Hana, sometimes I feel like I'm fighting a one man fight here too if ever AKB is mentioned. But you know, even friends have different opinions and you gotta give up. MKB was always known as being a little more provocative than Momusu or anyone else in H!P at that time; or currently for that matter. But even with "Nikutai" (I know what video you're talking about without even having to click, am I gud MKB fan? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /crazy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> ) there were no girls kissing girls. There wasn't any slutty lingerie. Just sensuous images. (Although I will admit the shower scenes were a little too much for me.)

I don't know anything about AKB. I do know that people like to compare the two and the only big difference I see is that AKB is way flirtier and sexier as a WHOLE. This is not inherently a bad thing. It only makes me feel bad when any idol seems like she's been manipulated into being sexier than she might be comfortable with (and I see this in H!P too!). I've said multiple times that an individual's investment in a pop group doesn't always come down to "oh sex!" and that its always more complicated than that.

Hey, I keep out of all AKB shit, but when you're straight up doing them VS HP, I'm gonna speak up. My post was a joke, but I'd still rather be set on fire than have anything to do with them.



I just find it sublimely ironic that the exact same group of people that destroyed Morning Musume's popularity has made AKB immensely popular. As I said, I hate the group, but their marketing is genius.



Also, if I had the means I would clone Hitler and replace the word "Jews" with "wota" in his brain and turn him loose on Japan.

My problem with AKB is that I don't see their reason to exist, beyond pandering to those wota shittards. You want cute bubbly idols, you've got HP. You want naughty idols, you've got thousands of gravure idols of all ages to choose from. You want blatantly sexual idols, you've got tons of AV idols to choose from. You want good music, you've got the other 99% of all artists out there.



The way my brain is programmed, I find nothing appealing/interesting about them at all that I can't find a superior version of elsewhere. It also doesn't help that the only member I found even remotely interesting/attractive (Mai Oshima) isn't even in the group anymore.

I am mostly here for the puppies, but I just want to say that I am mostly indifferent about AKB. To some degree, I agree with Al, I can't really see anything appealing about the group that I can't just get from somewhere else. There are too many girls, (and I am one of those who still can't remember the names of the H!P Kids) with too many releases, and the songs just aren't really my cup of tea. And the music is probably what gets me interested in groups in the first place. But H!P also hasn't been doing a whole lot to capture my interest either.



I think it's actually kind of nice when people can get so impassioned about something, so I don't see threads like this as necessarily a bad thing.

I don't get why this thread has been so extraordinarily controversial, even reaching other forums. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sad:' /> Al's post was by and large a joke as far as I could see, and most of the thread just consists of personal reactions towards AKB and H!P and interpretations of their image/PVs. No one is seriously calling AKB "whores." I like AKB48. There are two AKB threads with my name on them here. And I certainly appreciate that there are many different ways to appreciate the group besides their sexual side. It's all good and ultimately not that serious even if it might come across that way. I like to be analytical and critical with the stuff I like, and it's great that the members here facilitate that rather than start flaming or bashing as soon as they feel that I've hurt their sacred H!P/AKB cow. That's what sets this place apart from the H!Os and JPMs.



And basically, all my fan rage relating to H!P and AKB is against wota, really. All my complaints really only apply to a particular group of hardcore sexually-invested fucknuts who think that women go rotten at 20.

This is a MM board. Of course we are going to have some bias towards H!P. Just like the Klubhouse is going to have bias towards AKB.



We have several fans of AKB here, so I don't think we're an entirely anti-AKB board. There are some tongue-in-cheek comments made about AKB here by certain sarcastic members (And if you go through their post history you'd see they make those comments all the time) but those few people are not representitive of the board. This is like a Marvel v DC, PS3 v 360, Cats v Dogs, ect ect battle. Don't let yourself get offended by it.



And in general comment:

There are some (huge) image related differences between the two. H!P in general projects a more innocent traditional idol image. AKB projects themselves as modern and have an image more in line with pop stars. It's apples and oranges. Even through they're both fruit, they're not entirely the same.
