Yeah, some of the English was incomprehensible. And that part with CL was pretty awful. Surprising, coming from CL.

On the other hand, I like that they still kept the Korean song title. That would've been awkward if they changed it to anything else.

Watching a few episodes of 2NE1 TV really gives an interesting "inside" view of the group.

And it makes me dislike their songs and music videos even more. The characters they portray in them are hugely different from what the girls actually are and act like.

I never liked any of their songs anyway...

However, 2NE1 TV made me really like Dara and Pom (and I can't believe they're "that old" [as in 'older than me'] already). CL seems like a bitch though.

Ditto. It won't make a difference, but I like having the tangible CD version of albums I really like instead of a digital-only version.

Does anyone have any experience ordering directly from YGE Shop? They have a guide for foreigners but it doesn't match the actual process anymore.

I don't think it's very much bias.

Generally, it just doesn't flow as well if lyrics are forced into fitting a pattern that was intended for another language. Proof of this is the fact that they HAD TO keep the 내가 제일 잘나가 chorus. Watashi wa saikou desu or any variation would just kill the song. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

If the song was originally written to be a Japanese song, I imagine that it wouldn't have turned out this way. The 2nd English rap only works because it's hilarious, I expected them to keep the one English part from the original, but in my head it only turned out as...

Kind of odd that they made it English, but didn't even bother to rhyme.

I didn't expect to like UGLY at first listen, but when the drums kicked in, it was cool. Not as crazy about the chorus, it seems like there was less effort.

2ne1 went onto Inkigayo with Hate You and Ugly. So apparently they were in charge of doing whatever is they do for the performances since both songs didn't have any set routine.

Or, you know, their faces are completely different. Minzy's face was very distinct to me from the start. Actually, I didn't have much of a problem telling 2NE1 apart to begin with... there were only 4 of them and most of them had some pretty clear identifying features. It was just a matter of learning their names.

CL has some lower body on her too, though. In the good way.

Yeah, I don't see how you could confuse the 4 girls. They usually also have different hair colors, which makes it much easier.

I finally got around to watching the 2NE1 TV S3_01. I get a lot of "zuh?" moments watching this. Like how do you go visit a friend with a camera crew in tow? Pretty much this.

If anyone hasn't seen them yet, they have GREAT making-ofs for Ugly and Hate You in episodes 4 and 5 of 2NE1 TV season 3. They show not just the behind-the-scenes for the PVs (which are interesting in and of themselves), but Teddy also talks about both songs and gives a little songwriting history. For example, "Hate You" was originally titled "Fuck You", and Teddy plays a version where they sing just that. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> it's just one word, but "Fuck" is more fitting.

Aside: I wonder why they split the Korean and English versions of the episodes.
