Edit: According to Tokohive (because I couldn't find out anywhere eyse) Manuel is Austrian (Ap, is he a cousin? xD) and they met in August of this year.



And to even kill MORE fun out of this.

According to her agency, they will register their marriage sometime soon, and Ayu is not pregnant. At this moment, there has not been any information about her future activities.

I don't care about either of the two, so I don't know the languages they can talk.

Ayu speaks a little English, she's gotten better. She did part of a CNN interview in English last year and seems to be able to communicate. And I believe he's taking Japanese classes.



She tweets in English quite a bit.

Somehow I'm entirely pessimistic about this whole situation though. Hopefully he inspires her to do something different musically for however long they're together because girlfriend's staaaale at this point.

Thanks for that, Valerie. She speaks much better English than I would have thought. She's certainly a much better English speaker than Ai Kago.



Also, I watched the music videos last night featuring her new husband. He looks like a taller, broader, long-haired Keanu Reeves. I had assumed he'd be a dancer in the videos, but no, he's an actor. His "character" does bad things, too. He robs banks and shoots at people. And in the ominous "Virgin Road" video, he and Ayu get married and then embark on a violent crime spree. She even shoots off a machine gun. Forgive me if I like listening to the songs better than watching them. When they're not violent, the videos are ponderous and depressing. I much prefer the videos on Ayu's "Next Level" album, particularly "Green," "Rule," "Next Level," and "Curtain Call." (Of course, as a rule, on any given day, I'd rather re-watch a good Hello! Project video.)

I finally watched the "Making of" clips for the videos on Ayu's latest album. She is heard speaking short bursts of English to the American crew members. It's clear that Ayu and Mr. Schwarz were already an item at the time of shooting, from the way they're snuggling up to each other in between takes. (I imagine that's why he got the job.) I'm curious about the "Sweet Season" video, where she plays a blonde California housewife, with a white husband, a fancy home in the desert with a large pool and a pack of California kids jumping into the water (most of them white). Quite a different fantasy than the ones depicted in the videos with Mr. Boy Toy.





P.S. Scratch that. In the "Virgin Road" Making of clip, she seems to be meeting Mr. Schwarz for the first time on location as they prepare a shot--they're both in their wedding clothes. She says, "Hi, nice to meet you" and shakes his hand as someone off camera introduces him to her. Later, in the "Last Angel & Love Song" Making of clip, she's cuddling with him for a photo shoot to create the photo of them that's in a frame on a table in the shot--it's a prop. So, unless they already knew each other and were keeping their relationship a secret, I'd say they met on the set and became an item afterwards. When they finish a shot in the later "Making of" clip, she goes to shake his hand and he instead puts his arms around her and kisses her on the cheek. Maybe those little touches sealed the deal, who knows.
