So yes, this is a game that has Kpop in it. What type of game, you ask? Why, a rhythm game, of course!
As we all probably know, the basic gameplay of rhythm games is that something scrolls in a certain direction (towards you, up, down, left, right, whatever). Same thing applies here: notes scroll towards you in 3D, and when they get to a certain point, you have to hit them. There are three different modes (4, 5, and 6 lines), each with three difficulty levels.
The app itself is free to download, but uses credits that you purchase in-app. You can purchase 1,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 30,000 point increments, and prices are in the area of $1/$5/$9/$25. Songs have different costs: 0, 15, 25, or 30 points per play. It's an ingenuous system, I think. The app itself is free, and you can either play a preview of the song (the first 30 seconds or so?), or if you do decide to pay to play a song and decide you don't like it, you "lose"/"waste" tenths of a cent!
<mode="Music game dork"> by the way, the game is made by Neowiz, who published the DJ Max series. Some of the DJ Max songs make an appearance here, so if you're a fan of those, it's a great bonus.</mode>
Songs, speaking of songs: What type of Kpop does it have, you ask? Why, I was just getting to that! maybe you'll recognize some of these songs:
(Unfortunately the videos I'm linking below show the hardest mode on the hardest difficulty, so keep that in mind lest you are put off by the difficulty of those. Also the guy playing on the iPhone has a speed mod on; the notes don't actually scroll retardedly fast.)

You might have also noticed that some of these are very recent. That's one of the great things about this game: they add new songs often. They've added 3 or 4 songs in the week I've had the game.
Finally, here's how to get the game and create an iTunes Korea account. The below is based on a post by someone on the bemanistyle forums, so check that as well for an alternate explanation.
1) Go to the iTunes store in the iTunes program. Scroll to the bottom of the home page, and on the bottom right, you should see the flag of your country. Click on that.
2) Find the Korean flag. For me it was at the bottom, in Korean. Click on it.
3) The Korean iTunes store will load. Yay!
4) Search for whatever it is you're going to get. For Tap Sonic, scroll down to one of those top 10 apps section (on the right, third section), and you'll see it listed as #1 or #2.
5) One you get to the app page, click the button directly under the icon that says "App".
6) A popup will prompt you to sign in. However, this can't be your US (or other country) iTunes account. So click Create New Account.
7) I don't know what it says, but click the button on the right!
8) Check the checkbox, and Click the button on the right.
9) On the next screen:
- The first box is for email address. NOTE: it won't allow you to use the same email address as your iTunes US account. But if you have gmail, you can add +text at the end of it, and it'll still deliver the email to you! So for example, I signed up as sadude+kor@ggeegeegeebabybabymail.com (minus SNSD song).
- The next two boxes are for your password and your password confirmation. It needs at least a capital letter and a number.
- Below that is your security question and its answer.
- The dropdown is for your bithdate. Day and Month in the dropdowns, and type in the Year.
- I think the bottom checkbox is to allow Apple to spam you. Uncheck just in case.
Click the box on the bottom right when done.
10) On this next screen:
- Select your credit card type. If you don't have a credit card, click the button next to the Amex card. If you do, it's best to put it in now, because I don't know how to put it in later!
Below that is the credit card number, and to the right of the # is the security code.
Expiration date is right below that, of course.
In the bottom chunk:
- I don't know what the dropdown is for, but pick the bottom option.
- Last name goes right below the dropdown, and first name to the right of that.
Put in your credit card info, and your address.
- The second dropdown with the up/down arrows is location. Pick 서울, and type "Seoul" in the box to the right of that.
- Post code: put 330-330
- The two boxes below that is for Address. You can put in the rest of your billing address as normal, or you can put in a fake one. It will still still go through even though you put Seoul as the city. You might get a call from your card's fraud department, but it will still go through. Just verify with them that you were the one who made the purchase of whatever you're getting.
- The last box is for phone number. It took my area code and phone number, so try that.
Click the bottom right button when you're done.
11) Check your email, and click on the link there to validate.
Congratulations! You now have an iTunes Korea account, and should now be able to download the app. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />
Once you start up the app, you'll need to create a game account. But it's free and doesn't require a credit card.
