Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome

Cool song, but the dirty lab motif doesn't fit very well. Also, lol at :40! Someone didn't mask their layers~
Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Well, I got their album! I like it. I've listened to it all the way through about 5 times. It's my new driving album, I guess.

Remember Perfume's insanely awesome English website I mentioned a few posts back? Turns out, they're just giving away that motion capture data along with the music!
Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Full version of PV is leaked! The PV is a little eh, but it doesn't disappoint in the end. I love their outfits, but it could've done with another scene or two. Aa-chan isn't very good at moving like a robot either.
Also, they still never fixed their mask at :40! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

That link is now a dead end. Here's one that current as of now.
I love this. It reminds me of their earlier stuff.

The robot arm that moves up in Kashiyuka's shot covers up one of the monitors in the background, but the overlayed, out-of-focus display wasn't masked out to hide the parts the arm should have covered up.

Yeah, the music is reminiscent of their early major label stuff, with the added bonus of no AutoTune effect.
BTW, the link I posted has been pulled already.

I was browsing videos for Perfume and I came across a fan video where a fan tried to mix all of Perfume's songs.

^ I saw that linked on a Perfume fan site. Interesting in theory, not so much in practice. The following, on the other hand...
OK, honestly, I wasn't even looking for Perfume mashups. Someone linked it to me via IM! And it's too amazing not to post. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

It's really Every Song Every. And that ending was great.
That song is 108% POWER.
EDIT:
Seems like Laser Beam, my favourite song from JPN, got a pretty cool music video:

I didn't actually listen to this, but the description sounds like the kind of music that Girl Talk makes. He's a fucking genius.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
I just listened to the mashup, it was pretty boring compared to Girl Talk's stuff. Also tried to listen to Laser Beam and Spring of Life,, against my better judgement, and regretted it. They sound just as bad as every other modern Perfume song.

Kind of neat, but, technically, it felt pretty weak. He took a bunch of acapellas and pitch-shifted some of them WAY too high and slapped them on. They didn't have any lyrical merit as a collection or even any inter-play. I like Spring of Life as a song and the acapellas are well-known, and usually something good taped to something good won't be total shit.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Yeah, the guy had to shoe-horn too many of the vocals to make them "work" -- especially the rock ones. Some of the pop vocals fit nicely, but overall a bit tortured for my tastes.

Radio rip of Perfume's new single
I absolutely love it. It's pretty different for them, as I feel it has a bit more of a worldwide "radio-friendly" appeal.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Is that even real? Did Yasutaka even touch it? For one, it's not anything close to the Yasutaka sound, and secondly, the song isn't compressed to all hell.
Anyway, it's interesting if not a little forgettable. Good thing the English sounds good; it would've been a major shame if all their lives from now on had awful Engrish.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Spending All My Time could have been a minute long, they've taken repetitive to a new level.
Not to mention the melody is so simple and common. I think the part where it gets softer, around 2:32, is my favorite. It reminds me of ONE ROOM DISCO, but with less variation.
Ok, if the song on the global site is HURLY BURLY, I'm kind of digging it.
Just don't give me 4 minutes of that exact part. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />
Is the single in response to this?

The previous mo-cap video they had (Project #1 in the corner) wasn't part of a Perfume song (though I haven't kept up with b-sides lately). Nope, it is HURLY BURLY (btw, these Kirin commercials are getting really out of hand. Cool your jets, Kirin Marketing Department). It could be that they're gonna have another set of mo-cap data for download. By the way, the user mo-cap projects for that first set look awesome. I love the paper dolls one.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Man, Perfume releases make me so excited, it's like a mini-Christmas every time I hear a new single/album is coming out. I'm glad I can still feel things like that and that I'm not totally dead inside.
Everything they've done after Triangle has been absolute gold.

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Perfume performed Hurly Burly live at their recent Chuuhai Summer Night concert and the official Perfume account and included a mini-version of the whole song as part of a 15-minute digest. It's repetative, but I love it right now. The digest also includes clips of them doing the dancing hologram thing and some MC and recent songs. It's a very cool little video clip. There's also a making clip.
It also looks like the new mo-cap videos from the global Perfume homepage are a tie-in with Kirin. They've got a site where you can pick the cameras, material types, and make a little avatar similar to the homepage video. Here it is (you need to connect to Facebook or Twitter).

Re: Perfume :: Electropop Idols of Awesome
Minute+ preview of Spending All My Time on Perfume's official YouTube. The song certainly sounds more Yasutaka-ish and the video is interesting if not a little milquetoast. And if they don't three-way kiss at the end, so help me, I will drive over to Japan and just slap the director right on his dingle-ing because come on.

Full Spending PV is out. It ended up being a different concept that I thought it would be, but it's kind of cute. In the trapped-in-a-room-because-witches way cute. Not a whole lot of resolution, though. Also interesting because it's a lead single and had no dance in the PV.
