I saw people talking about that on the C-ute concert Ustream. Wow. That was fast. I was expecting it to be at least at the end of this year! This is what happens when Tsunku decides not to add girls to the group for 3 years.

I was at the afternoon concert where Tsunku announced the 10th gen auditions. Well, through a VTR, though I expect he was in the audience as he is almost always there on days they are shooting the DVDs double checking everything. Apparently the 5 older members had been told in a meeting but this was the first time the Cookies heard anything so they were all completely shocked and found it hard to gather comments together when asked what they thought at the end of the VTR. All four mentioned how they weren't sure how they could become sempai when they had just joined themselves and would they really be able to teach new members anything.



Of course as soon as the video started and people saw Tsunku there was a collective gasp from the audience, which Tsunku's vtr even addressed with a smug "Well you know what it means when I come on here." Then he mentioned how the 9th gen auditions had him fired up again and he wanted Musume to continue to evolve so he was opening up the 10th Generation "A mark of spirit" auditions.



Although it is a little soon (I expected more right after Ai's graduation next spring) I am psyched as this means Musume is back to full power. Remember that fourth gen was auditioned for only a few months after Maki joined, so this isn't unheard of. I am psyched and look forward to the results. I wish they would open up the ages a little more (another big sigh in the audience when he announced 10 year olds were eligible) but I think I could accept a 10 year old if it were say certain people, a la Cuca. But I don't think Cuca will be 10 yet.

It says the auditions end on 6/13 so that's a pretty small window for applicants. I don't think the 9th auditions were that short were they?



Anyway, I'm excited as long as he really doesn't stick a 10 year old in the group that is. 10 year olds are fine for Eggs but not for Musume. Unless of course it's Cuca. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> (When is she turning 10? She's already 9.) Wow, for some reason this doesn't really surprise me because I was just thinking the other day that Tsunku would do this. No idea why the thought came to me, but it did. Maybe it's the result of crappy CD sales from the most recent single? Though I'm not sure how adding a 10th gen would "fix" this.



However... hopefully this will mean the graduation of more members (i.e. Reina, Sayu, Risa) so that would be awesome? :D



Though if Mogi comes back I'm rioting.

As to the 10th Gen, let's hope he will learn from the 9th Gen and try introducing some talent, you know somebody who can actually sing and has passed puberty.

As for 10th gen, it is really early, but I suppose it's understandable, considering how long the older girls have been around. Aika's already hit the four year mark, which is longer than a lot of Musumes have stuck around



That being said, anyone know when Cuca's turning 10 (crossing my fingers she's 10 and just hasn't updated her profile)? I guess there's always 11th gen since the deadline is really short this time. My guess is they're going to announce them at Ai's graduation.

4th gen were just two singles and 9 months after Maki joined, as well. But yeah, 9th gen should've been in 09 around Koharu's graduation, if you were to ask me.

This is far too soon. I've come to accept all the 9th, even Special Needs Suzuki, but unless this audition is an excuse to put the remaining Eggs in MM, I'm not seeing anything positive. If he selected a couple of 17 year olds, maybe, but we're never seeing that again.

I wouldn't mind another egg in the mix as long as she isn't soft boiled like Mizuki turned out to be.



I still want someone named Saki in the group so everyone can have a Saki of their very own and then Tsunku can make an awesome 4 person unit with all of them. (You know you want it to happen, admit it!)
