I like ballads and quiet, girly songs but this isn't quite that. This is one of those awful mishmash easy listening generic songs, that is too fast paced for a ballad but too slow to be an upbeat pop song. This is something I'd imagine Matsuura Aya 2.0 singing in a field, wearing bad granny clothes.

I totally just LOVELOVELOVE these kinds of songs.

I really love the style of songs that Mano has been doing lately. Her whole second album was just love.

It's a nice peaceful song I can just relax to~

I swear, I like the girl, but I cannot last through a single one of her songs because of her voice. She's getting better, but still nowhere near solo-worthy.

I watched the latest H!P concert and when I wasnt paying attention she came on and I could have sworn I heard koharu, then I turned my head.

Her songs are getting more bearable though.

Look, I'm going to be gentle here because I assume you have some sort of chronic myopia/astigmatism/macular degeneration and I wouldn't want to upset your guide dog but no way does she look like Rika. If she looks like anybody it's a cross between Sayumi and Mano Ogawa. So there.

Perhaps her chin is Rika-like at certain angles.



It's a very sweet song and I like how the PV has random people walking around minding their own business. (Without her being in Costco) I'm also reminded of Aruiteru.

No, still can't see anything, For a start off she hasn't got ...ahem....Rika's smouldering sexuality. Looking at the video again I'm also getting hints of Abe when she first joined MM. She's attractive but in a boring sort of way.

I like Mano's voice. She has a nice, quiet voice for her usual kind of music and it works for me. Similarly, Koharu sang terribly but somehow it worked for anime.

I've seen the similarity between mano and rika for a while, it's not totally obvious but there are times when you get a flash of it.



At least mano doesn't sound like her, for however good rika looks, her singing was like trying to watch a whale climb a skyscraper. it's trying hard but everyone watching knows it ain't never gonna happen.



Besides turtle has his rose tinted glasses so far stuck on his eyes that he will never admit that anything current is similar in anyway to something of the past.



which is a shame, living in the now is far better.

Listening to Koharu was literally torture...



Mano can actually sing.



Seriously some people around here expect every H!P member to be the greatest singer of all time.

Mano is passable with upbeat songs, but horrible with ballads. Far better seen than heard.

Manor has a quiet presence. It isn't the strongest voice but it suites her fine.

I liked Mano's early at-the-piano pieces, but I found her really below par in the two winter concerts. She's getting worse. I don't plan on getting any more of her albums/concerts.



But I also really miss Koharu.

Listen to her solo in the last winter concert and tell me she doesn't sound like a slightly better koharu. She's pretty. And some if her Indies and early singles were alright, but her singing isn't good for a solo artist imho. I don't expect all H!P artists to be amazing singers (hell my favorite is Aika) but for solo artists in H!P, I do expect them to have a pretty decent singing voice.

Normally I don't bother defending Mano since opinions are irrational; but, since you're someone who I know has bought (and enjoyed, I thought) several of her albums and DVDs, I figured I'd ask. Your sentence sounds strange. Like you're giving up on her because of the winter concert. I know that live singing just isn't something she can do, but I hope you're giving up on her because you don't like her recent songs, not because of the bad performance of some three songs from the H!P concert.



In any case, I hope you at least watch her most recent concert on YouTube or something when it comes out in three months or whatever. It was far better than the sparse setlists of her previous 2.5 concerts. (And I would say the performance was far more even than her winter performance, although she still can't and probably won't ever be able to properly sing "Lucky Aura" live.)
