It's a shame that the sound that made them breakout in Japan is so inferior to their Korean sound.  They only have two or three Japanese songs I like at all.

Their last Korean comeback sucked too. Most of Kara's stuff is awful.

Well, I think we can all agree they promoted in some horrible weeks.
Big Bang, EXO and SHINee getting all the attention, not a chance.
But the actual problem is the agency, cutting KARA and Rainbow's promotions at only 2 weeks

It did poorly both digitally and physically which is probably why they ended it early. Obviously they couldn't compete for those groups in terms of media-play but it was also just poorly received in general.

In unsurprising news, Kara is basically over. Hara and Seungyeon announced withdrawal. Hara has apparently joined with KeyEast as an actress (lol) and Gyuri is talking to other agencies. 
 
Not terribly unsuspected, Youngji didn't really reignite the group in the way DSP probably hoped for and while their last two comebacks weren't failures, they still underperformed compared to older Kara releases.

Dang, that's upsetting.... it's too bad they couldn't do one final record. "Cupid"'s okay but definitely not what I wanted them to end with.

Well, Kara has been quite uninteresting musically for some time now.
I like Youngji a lot, but their songs since 2011's Step were mostly boring as fuck.

Now I hope they can disband the group and all the members leave to do other stuff.

Since Youngji is stil around maybe they would want to have a 2nd gen. like Jewerly but I hope DSP learn from their mistakes, they don't know how to manage Idols

Confirmed. Gyuri is leaving DSP as well. I'd be was one of the 2nd wave groups is over, but Kara mostly had terrible music and were pretty untalented as far as kpop idols go.

It might be because K-Pop is so popular nowadays and news like these travel quickly, but it's scary how often this happens with K-Pop celebs.

I think in the general scope kpop is actually still a very small circle so you are more aware of when something like this happens.


I feel bad for Hara. She had already attempted suicide once before and it appears that she did not receive the help she needed after that.

It doesn’t help that she had an abusive ex boyfriend who severely injured her who isn’t in jail and threatened to release a sex tape. I can’t imagine that helped her health at all.
