Does anyone know where I can find some good quality images of AKB from 2005-2006? I'm finding them very difficult to find :(

At HKT48's current concert they did a performance of The Peace!  It was cute.

Searching for more recent Mechaike stuff, I came across the Mechaike Bakajo test with about a dozen AKB48 members:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10qvrx_mechaike-bakajo-test-akb48-special-part-1-2013-04-20_fun

Haven't watched all of it yet, but it's very similar to the one MM did a decade ago.

I'm just surprised because I feel like their last shuffle wasn't that long ago. I wonder if it's because they want to put more non-AKB members into the teams.

Is this because Yuko's leaving? I could be wrong but I feel like the last time they did this was just before Atsuko left.

I keep losing track of where Mocchi lands, and if Takamina gets shuffled, too, I'm just going to ragequit. I don't love AKB enough to keep up with all of this.

Last single pulled in about the same amount a c-ute single goes for. Funny enough they are both releasing their next single on the same day.

But honestly, Atsuko is more into acting then releasing music.

As far as I know, none of the AKB48 girls have been particularly successful with their solo ventures. Even Mayuyu's first week sales were rather disappointing and eventually dropped to around 60k for her last single.

I'm still reeling from Yuko leaving, so the team reshuffle is a lot to take in.  I guess it shouldn't be surprising, she's getting older and I have always felt that someone in the agency had a vendetta against her because they always found some way to push Acchan or Mayu in front of her, even when she won senbatsu.  I really hope she has a good career post-AKB. She's insanely determined so if she wants to pursue a solo/acting career, I think she'll do well.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this entire thing was to get girls from other groups into the teams.

That is very weird putting a Nogi46 girl in and vice versa. Matsui is guaranteed a spot in their next Senbatsu and it sucks.

Yuko's graduation concert got canceled due to bad weather. Kinda sucks for her.  She was this close to mostly freedom (she still had a Theater graduation to do).

So it's been a while since I posted but this definitely deserves it, not a lot of people would understand how excited I am.

So I'm finally in Japan after 15+ years of intensely dreaming about it, and it turns out my bf is friend's with Asuka Kuramochi's private dance teacher and she got us tickets to the original theater on Friday.

Gyah! #bragging.

I'll report how it goes.

Lucky! Which team is it?

We got to go to the theatre last November but obviously I didn't get around to writing a detailed report yet... :hahaha: It was Team 4 though, which apparently does not exist any more as it did back then.

We'll be in Japan again in a few weeks and hope to get tickets again too, but having no cool friends like that we have to rely on our luck in the long-distance ticket lottery. :hmph:

This is an I'm just gonna leave this here post: a page from ANA's current in-flight magazine, you can buy a set of towels with AKB girls dressed up as ANA cabin crew. H!P needs deals like that, and not some gimmicky comedians. :dammit:
DSC_6583e.JPG
Also... I saw this poster on sale in an idol store today and couldn't help myself. :suika: (shut up please, Rinatin used to be both Berry's and mine original favourite :cryalot: )

In the end this was so low on the list of priorities that I didn't apply yet. I still may for one or two days where we could squeeze a visit to the theatre in, but it's probably too late to have any chances...

Front AKB girls perform Love Machine. (Kei was there too!)

That's some REALLY horrible hairdo on Takamina !
They lacked the wacky omph MM always have/had when performing Love Machine.

There is something soothing about knowing that Kei is still on TV and smiles.

I thought the same thing but wrote it off as my bias against AKB.

It felt...empty.  And honestly Love Machine is one of my favorite songs.

Minegishi sounds so good compared to some other girls I've heard. She's not crazy great, but I notice that I really enjoy when she sings.

<div>Congrats to Mayu~ She's my favorite so I'm finally happy she got 1st. Kinda iffy about Rina from Nogizaka being in there. I like her, she's my favorite, but why make a rival group if you're going to stick them into the other group? It's like sticking Risako into C-ute.</div>
