So YuiKaori for those who don't know are a unit made up of Ogura Yui and Ishihara Kaori. They aren't apart of H!P nor were they ever Eggs. They are however, apart of Up-Front. More specifically, Up-Front Style.
After releasing 3 singles last year and 1 this year, they released their debut album, Puppy on September 21st.
It's worth mentioning because I personally found it to be pretty awesome.
3. Mirai gata Idol <- [Excuse me while I fangasm to death over the fact that they covered a song by one of my first and all-time favorite idols. Sure she was singing with someone else (Kyoko Hikami), but Yuko Miyamura is LOVE! -> (Original) ]
I love this album. I was a fan of their singles as well, but this album is amazing if for nothing else, the song Puppy Love, the opening track, and the two solo tracks. The rest are pretty good as well, but nothing comes close to these. Our Steady Boy was one of my favorite songs of the year in 2010, so having that here is definitely a bonus as well. It's still hard to comprehend how Yui's voice can be so heart-meltingly adorable in so many ways yet it still has good tone and she has good control of it. Most girls who end up being anywhere near as cute-sounding as her aren't very good singers, but Yui impresses me every time I hear her. I hope they still have a good run of material in front of them, as I color myself a pretty big fan of them.
I can't get over the fact that the other one of them sounds like Haruko Momoi (is it Ogura?). And their stuff reminds me of Momoi's solo work too, although it's not as rememberable as hers. Plus the promo pics with the panties and all are pretty creepy.
I have a hard time understanding why people freak out about this stuff at all. Especially when both girls are well over legal age by Japanese standards, and Kaori is actually over 18 right now, so even people using American standards have no reason to complain. I don't know if any of you guys were around for our discussions we had here a few years ago about U-13 models, but compared to some of the stuff that's out there in Japan (and very available/mainstream,) two 16-18 year old girls in frilly panties is NOTHING.
And upon further listening, I've found that Crystal no Chikai is the only song on here thats not all that great, and out of 12, that's a really good ratio for a Jpop album.

Saying "something else is 'worse'" is not really how you should argue imho.
At least nobody here was freaking out about it.
I'm not attacking (or defending) them at all, I think Yui is quite cute. Eventhough it actually IS the only thing I remember, I was just joking when I mentioned the panty picture(s) and called you a pedophile. I like to throw around several "severe" words around just for fun. Like Cancer, Rape, AIDS or Fritzl. All of these are ugly things.
Age of consent in Austria is 14, so I personally don't see it from an US-American standpoint. Just saying this, even if you may not haven written that paragraph just for me.
Not trying to argue with anyone, just bringing up a point of discussion. I know fairly well that you're not very serious a lot of the time, and same goes for me around this place, but some of the other people here and elsewhere that I've read on the Internet seem to be taken aback by this kind of stuff, so I'm encouraging anyone who thinks so to discuss it. Also keep in mind that all of those pictures that were pretty "risqué," if you will, were direct marketing for their main TV anime that they voice and do promotion for, which is a somewhat raunchy anime by a lot of people's standards, where there are two sisters trying to get the same guy's attention/love/sex/whatever. I'm actually looking forward to seeing them do some acting and promotion for some other series whenever KISSxSIS is done with. They have much more potential.

Right, but those pictures in question are from the KISSxSIS promotion. I haven't seen any of the other direct promotions they did, but I thought KISSxSIS was still on the air, but maybe not.
I definitely loved the album on the first listen, but then I somehow haven't felt super compelled to listen again. I love all of the single tracks, Kyu! Kyu! Curiosity is sickeningly adorable, and their cover of Miraigata Idol makes me nostalgic for all the anime music I listened to oh-so-many years ago... but still, somehow it hasn't gotten massive replay like 12, Smart has. No explanation as of right now, I dunno.
Maybe I'll put it on again and try to figure out what the problem is. XD
