She looks like Hello Kitty. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I don't know how I feel about this PV. It's kind of random and weird, which makes it fun, but the imagery and coloring seem a bit off from the song. At the same time, I really like Mano in this. She's really good at being cute and showing girlishness (like her :3 face when she looks at her cell phone) without being over the top or exaggerated. The song itself is fun and catchy, too.

I love the outfit and I think this might be my favorite single of hers. I like hyper happy Mano, not so much ballad mano. I can not stop listening. If she continues in this direction I believe she could sell 50,000 this year ; )

I think I like Doki Doki Baby more than the other A-side. Where's her huge bow? That'd be cute on the cover, too. First My Days for You where her voice got so much better and now this! I'm excited for her. She seems to be doing so much better.

Whoooah I totally forgot that this single even existed. I watched the PV for Doki Doki Baby ages ago but I actually really loved it. The song is very sweet sounding, and the PV is appropriately random and cute in a very Mano-ish way. I'm really trying to say it's not just that I prefer one over the other, but surely a kick ass upbeat song like Doki should be the one being performed over the ballad?



Unless you had a singer who could WOW people with their voice (which she doesn't have).....

Doki Doki Baby wins hands down for favorite Mano song since uhm, it's been awhile.

Along with the drastic change in art direction of the covers, this single brings along many new changes to the Mano formula. (Even the CD itself is a pretty cool design with a prominent stylized image of a candy drop wrapper. I'm fairly certain her previous singles were boring CDs, but I certainly can't be bothered to go look at them at the moment. Furthermore, this is a double a-side so I cannot make my common complaint about H!P not giving instrumentals to both songs.) The song of thanks that was "My Days for You" and its related products of a concert, photobook, and DVD seems to have marked the end of her previous era of ten singles. Mano's lyricist, Miura Yoshiko, was relegated to the b-side in that single, but is nowhere to be found on this new single.



The lyrics and music were both done by a completely unknown guy named 本上遼. The internet barely even knows how to read his name, but I've settled on Honjo Ryo for now. He has written exactly two songs in his professional career, and they are both on this single. I would say that this marks the first of Mano's songs that one of Tsunku's friends didn't compose, but it would appear that this guy is Tsunku's friend as well. Because, besides these two songs, the only other information about him is that he wrote all the filler songs for The Possible's upcoming album. Songs that apparently Tsunku was too busy or unmotivated to write himself. He also can't seem to arrange on his own because all of his songs are co-arranged by him and a slightly-less-anonymous musician named Harada Katsumichi.



Honjo's poetry has already started to show its tendencies in these two songs, and I wonder whether they will also be apparent in The Possible's album. He makes competent use of interesting interlocking repetition, and "Tasogare Kousaten" is a workmanlike extended metaphor. It remains to be seen whether he will continue abusing ellipses.

Despite Miura's absence, Honjo manages to tease us with a "mune" in "Dokidoki Baby", but then really establishes his place as Mano's lyricist by placing the complete "kono mune" in the second a-side. After a short break with "Genkimono", we are now on a three-single streak of this phrase appearing in a-sides (that makes this one number eight, plus one album track and one b-side).

Estimated first day sales for the last single, My Days for You, were 5,205.
