Announced it on her blog.

Tokyohive translated it:

"To everyone who has always been cheering for me and supporting me:

I, Kago Ai, would like to announce that I have registered my marriage this month with a person I have known for some time now. Also, recently… I learned that I have a new life growing inside of me.

I feel such happiness from the bottom of my heart, and also feel a sense of responsibility. From now on, I would like for us to build an ordinary, quiet, and warm home life as the two of us work together and become closer to one another.

Although up until now I’ve caused so much worry, as Kago Ai, in my own way, as a 23 year old woman, a wife, and a mother, for the time being I want to fully embrace and treasure this happiness.

I would be truly happy if you continued to watch over me warmly from now on as well."

And she apparently won't be holding any press conferences or interviews about it.

Seems like a bit much to handle, considering everything that's happened to her this year. But I wish her luck and hope it works out for her.

You know what's impressive? H!P has been a child celebrity factory since 1997 and Kago is the only train wreck. I know there are other reasons beyond young stardom for her particular behavior, but still. Seems like it beats the odds.

Maybe this will help bring some stability to her life? While it may not be under the best circumstances, maybe she needs something positive to look forward to everyday.

This will either be an awful thing, or a really, really good thing. I simply hope she is mentally stable enough for this right now.

I honestly feel that that is exactly what she has needed for some time now. Aibon never had a healthy home life (it's pretty much known that her family was super trashy) and grew up in the spotlight as a super popular member of what was an incredibly successful group that took Japan by storm much like AKB48 has in recent years. I think growing up in two such extreme environments has given her a lot of issues to work through and maybe some normalcy is exactly what she needs to try for a while.

... I hope the father isn't the porn producer or a yakuza guy.

She hasn't said, just that it's someone she's known for a long time. Hopefully it's not that guy, or the porn guy. He was arrested, but I think he was let go because they couldn't fully pin anything on him or something like that.

I wonder if she's still living with that friend who was taking care of her when she got released from the hospital. I guess not now that she's married.

Oy. There are a lot of things I could say about this, but won't because I just hope she'll be happy in the end. The showbiz thing isn't working for her at all, and an ordinary life is probably what she needs at this point. I hope she chose a GOOD man this time so a child doesn't have to suffer a terrible father because of Kago's poor choice in men, and I hope she receives help if she has not yet (what therapist would encourage her to marry so soon after these tragedies?) because having a happy and 'ordinary' life will be difficult if she doesn't first squash her inner demons and avoid repeating what she's seen and been through in the past.

I can't remember if the porn guy was in Japan or not (I think Japan.). But the friend who taking care of her is a woman. She has her own blog and everything which is where she mentioned she'd be taking care of Kago.

Having a child can really change a person's life for the better, but it can also be a very very bad thing. I hope this time something good actually comes of her latest drama.

I mean, I really became quite physically ill hearing this news, knowing that a couple months ago she was slicing her wrists open. There is no way in hell she's in a stable position right now (and definitely not in one to be having a kid). Please don't bank on this ideal that having a baby will make someone's life stable.

Holy shit, sorry, don't know why I'm reacting so strongly, maybe it's the therapist in me ;P I just pray for the best for everyone. What crazy drama. I just hope for the best for them :(

That's the really sad part about this. I'd hate to hear 9 months from now that she's suffering from post-partum depression, or some Michael Jackson-esque baby-over-the-balcony story. I'd like to think that now that they have something in common in their lives she and Tsuji might reconnect and she'd have good support, but in reality it's more likely that a few "yaaay congrats!!" blog entries from Tsuji might be all she gets. Thinking positive for Kago hasn't really worked out so far but I guess it can't hurt to try? >.>

Yuki Goto's flame out is worse than Kago's by a fair margin. Not technically H!P, but still a part of the Tsunku teen-idol machine.

I wonder what the actual rate of career ending, train-wreck flame-outs is for teen idols who "make it" in the industry.
