NESH COMPLEX - POST POP -2nd Stage-

BBS,

I've been working on this new album for the past 6 months and I really want your support.

POST POP -2nd Stage- is a electronic concept album that I wanted to be to pop music what post-rock is to rock; a lot of the same instruments, but focusing on feeling and, like this case, narrative. The album follows the story I wrote a while back, "The Bad Guy," and I've had a wonderful time imagining and realizing that world.

So get this: the album is free and it comes with a PDF of "The Bad Guy." This is the truest experience, and I want everybody to have it. If someone were so inclined, I also pulled together POST POP -1st Stage-, a bonus album with the first drafts (and stems!) of each of the songs, a few lost songs, and a PDF of my notes and sketches for a donation of $2.99.

I know I'm still rather green musically, but I've poured my heart into this project, and there is no other project I've worked on where comments and critiques have meant so much. This community is extremely important to me (much more than some of my IRL friends) and your honesty and support are very dear to me.

I set up a webpage at PostPopAlbum.com with download links and other goodness.

Thanks <3

Thanks guys! Also, if you're interested, I did a live streaming event where I read the short story between each song here on Twitch/Justin.tv.

Thank, but be warned: it's something entirely different from my style and totally new to me. I hope you enjoy!

Listening to it right now. If asked to classify this, I'd go with ambient electronic noise. Ralph Records comes to mind, although I'm not exactly sure which group(s) (Tuxedomoon? Snakefinger?) A bit of very early Laurie Anderson, too. There are some pretty good ideas explored throughout the album, but parts of it feel disjointed to me, like some ideas could have been explored further rather than transitioned into something completely different, while others seem to go on longer than they should. The one thing I kept hoping to hear was more "natural" sounding instruments sprinkled in here and there, as I really love the juxtaposition of acoustic sounds in electronic music, but this is obviously a personal preference. "Clear Head" and "Reaching the Nopoint" are standouts on first listening to me. I don't get the "Bad Guy" storyline, but I admit I didn't read the story, so take that for what it's worth. All in all a really good job, though, and I look forward to hearing more of your stuff.

My response to this album:

Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ Nesh, you are amazing.

Pope, it does help if you read the story, obviously. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /crazy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I caught a pretty good idea of how the story and album tied in.

Writing a story to go with music will always be one of the coolest things ever. I downloaded it, but I'm going to listen to it tomorrow when I'm less sleepy and can appreciate it more. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Why am I double posting? Come on guys, listen to it. it's apopaloptic <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... pyeyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don't listen to this genre of music often, but I did enjoy this! Some tracks really unnerved me. If I have nightmares tonight I'm going to digital punch you! D: But compared to the other stuff you've showed us, this is really different in a good way. And though some tracks made me think the Illuminati was after me, I think I'll use this for when I write horror scenes to really up the ante. Thank you for that!

Yes, it is very unnerving.

Unfortunately I don't like unnerving music.

I shared the link with a friend of mine who's into experimental music. I'll get her opinion for you in a couple days. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

On the flip side, it shows how effective it was in invoking emotions. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':joyful:' />

I got a plug for my album on a radio show today! It didn't go horrible like the other call-ins I've had to that show!

Was that a legit question, or did you just try to think of something to get on the show?

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?

I try to have a semi-legit question whenever I call in for a plug. I knew about CDBaby beforehand.

Also, I started almost all of my sentences with 'uhm.' Whenever I notice that, my self-consciousness kicks up. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
