Two weeks away from her 29th birthday, and Airi can still pull off cute like this.

This place is dead as hell. Maybe a Maa-chan x Riai duet will move the needle a bit. :danceman:

Their voices mesh really well together. What group is Riai in?

Maa and Omizu sing Tsubaki's "Kon'ya Dake Ukaretakatta"

It's cute how Mizuho can't stop smiling.

They might as well rename this segment Maa x One.

I wonder if she's getting all of these because of her debut or just cause...

It's some nice fanservice and I take it!
In general it's one of my favourite H!P Youtube things, so hey, the more the better. Also, damn, Mizuho really is good.

New Sayubee song "Chameleon"

Meh. Sounds like a track that was written for Karin but got rejected before release.

It’s got a very generic jpop sound.

I don't know what's it with girls that leave Up Front and their music. It's mostly so generic. No punch. Nothing catchy about it.

Then again, there is a market for that. Up Front and H!P is just a different kind of music I guess.

Pretty generic song overall but it's always a pleasure to hear her sing so I ain't complaining. I think I will be forever mad about what happened with her.

Murotan is going on hiatus after overworking herself and recently being diagnosed with panic disorder.

Man. Murotan's solo career was so sad so far. Seeing that her singles weren't sucessful was probably really painful after working so hard.

This is sad. Of all the behind-the-curtain H!P stories we don't know about, I'm most interested in the details surrounding Murotan's graduation and the launch of her solo career. Why was it so important that Funaki's graduation be pushed back to accomodate Murotan? Was that her decision, was it UF's or was it mutual? She seems to have acted on either bad advice or regrettable impulse, because every move she's made starting with her graduation has been bad. The strange vibe surrounding her departure probably turned off a number of her fans, and her solo stuff never felt genuine.

I also wonder if she was guided by undiagnosed panic disorder the whole time, which would be truly unfortunate if so.

Translation of Miyabi expressing her thoughts about the first M-line Special concert where audience chants were allowed.

Congratulations Gaki!

Chiichan is leaving once more, this time for Canada.

I think she might be the first Up Front member to go there (to study English at least)?

Performances from the latest episode of M-line Music.

Risamaru, Mai Ozeki and Manakan with really great performance of Tsubaki's "Fuwari, Koi Dokei." This arrangement is soooooo good.

Nice to see Melon Kinenbi get som M-line love: Karin, Miyabi and Moemi from Bitter & Sweet do "Saa! Koibito ni Narou." The audience clearly approves.

Ah well, we'll always have “In your Dreams.”

Ah... too bad for them, but I guess it was always just a project and therefore time-limited. They did quite well for that.

For the 100th episode of M-line Music, Yuka Miazaki joins Karin as co-host, and we get a clip of the two performing J=J's "Kono Sekai wa Suteta mon ja nai" at a recent gig.

Yuka is one of those members who is impossible to dislike, and seeing her on stage makes me happy.

The second performance clip features Miyabi, Maa, Karin, Yuka, Moemi from Bitter & Sweet and Rika Shimakura from Biyo doing "Special Generation."

It's wild how much more energy these M-line shows have now that chants and cheers are allowed. Given the choice between seeing an active H!P group from a shitty seat in a large hall or seeing an M-line show from the worst seat in a small auditorium, I think I'd pick the M-line show, tbh.

After that it's Karin and Yuka reacting to a 2017 J=J live of "Girl's Be Ambitious." Seeing the original lineup at their peak is fun.

Goddamn, they were good.

Absolutely agree.
I love the direction they went with M-Line. We saw these girls grow into great performers, and it's great that we can continue to see them.
It's better than the occasional birthday event or dinner show - and they're still doing these on top of that. But now we can see them perform together, in interesting combinations, doing H!P evergreens.

Yup. They used to graduate at the peak of their performance level and then mostly disappear from the stage. Such a waste. I wonder if these clips showing high-energy, jacked-up audiences will make M-line shows more popular? It'd be awesome if they could make enough from live events to justify releasing an original M-line album each year, or even semi-original. Like half new songs and half H!P covers.

For the Japanese speakers here, Maro joins Kago for the second installment of her Snack Mom series, which is basically Kago talking with other former idols. Not sure if all of her guests will be idols with checkered pasts, but her first guest was Yua Mikami, so maybe. This is in Japanese w/o subs.
