Tokito Ami has a new single...

Since Maki gets her own thread here (even though she is not with H!P anymore), can't Tokito too?





Ami Tokito is releasing a new single under the name Talking Bunbun. She also has left TNX and Tsunku for a new man, tatsuo.



The single name is "Bye Bye to Te wo Afuru Watashi nji Namida no Seki". A short preview appeared on youtube. Check it out, yo! Also, she has been promoting the single in Akihabara lately in an interesting way.



I always liked Tokito and her music. And, this single's quality is much better than what she done at TNX in my own opinion.

Her outfit in the colorful parts screams of "off brand Kyrary", whereas the music feels more like off brand Scandal. This is incredibly low budget, but it's not like she was getting anything better with TNX :p

I completely disagree. First of all, as much as I love Kyary, her style is derived from Harajuku-kei and fairy-kei - both styles were established long before Kyary came around. She has put a new level of eccentric on top of it, which makes her stand out. Ami in this video isn't dressed like Kyary, she's just dressed like all of the other girls in the pages of magazines like Fruits.



I also would not call this "incredibly" low budget. It's campy and cheesy, but on purpose. Also that guy who makes a cameo at the end? His name is Sugi-chan and he's in the middle of a huge boom as a comedian. So while it's certainly not a fancy shiny CG masterpiece, she's got a set that's not just a curtain and some lights, extras, and a famous person! That's leagues above what we get in most H!P videos. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />



Anyway, I love Ami's voice and I'm glad she's singing again. I think the song is fun, I hope she keeps doing stuff.

It's true, no love. However, let's not forget that Ami was in a group with Tsuji & Nacchi's sister. (sure, TNX group)



I got excited about this news, but forgot about the actual release until now. I love the song and her cardboard glasses. I'm glad they are keeping the quirky charm of the old days alive.

The preview is OK, but the song doesn't really do anything special. Her voice is still great, but some of the stuff she did with TNX was leagues above this, in terms of the music. That street video was somewhat entertaining. Its funny to see how much people avoid random things on the street in Akihabara.

I know about fairy-kei, etc and I think it can be agreed upon that it's resurgence in popularity recently can be traced back to Kyary? You see a lot more of this stuff in the mainstream lately because people are trying to cash in on her success.

I don't want to sound like I was bashing - I like low budget and cheesy! If anything, it's a compliment, haha.
