MM's 51st single is set to be released 10/10.

I absolutely love it. The song, the dance, everything so far. It's very cool<3 So I guess the 11th gen won't join till the 52nd single?

Even if it's autotune, I'm glad everyone got lines.

I think Maachan has gotten really good at dancing, she's even better than Haruka imo.

I know everyone has a boner for this, but it seriously feels like an only slightly upgraded version of Renai Hunter to me. It's not awful but it ain't great. I've listened to it four times and yet I can't really remember any of it. I have vague recollections of the chorus but everything leading up to it feels kind of randomly thrown together? Like it doesn't flow?

Sometimes things flow, sometimes they don't... not everything has to flow.

Arrangement wise it is rather out of the mold, with several different parts, but isn't that an awesome thing? Surely it would be boring if everything was the same?

Someone in the comments section said that this would be amazing live with crowd participation and I have to agree, this seems like one of those songs that gets better every time and the peak performance is at a live show.

Tsunku says that Ayumi and Haruka won't be in the dance shot because of their injuries D: That's a real shame...especially with a song that has such a cool dance number.

Rob, you forgot all sorts of important stuff! Seven editions! Posters!

The only downside I can see to this is the same problem One Two Three had. It sucked live without the autotune.

Love this song. It seems unique for sure. Also, everyone gets more than syllables! That's such a plus! Zukki has a lot of dancing time up front it seems, during the dance break she was with Ayumi and Riho up front too. Are those Reina's dancing pants? She wore them in the What's Up video too.

I have nothing but love for this song.

Holy shit x3

PLEASE let this finally indicate a consistently awesome Morning Musume sound!!!

I'm on the "loving this" train. While I do agree that it lacks the catchiness of One Two Three and everything seems more or less disjointed, I more so am enjoying the fact that the song stays exciting and surprising from beginning to end. It keeps you on your toes.

EDIT:

Random thought - because it sounds like several different songs thrown into a blender, wouldn't it be hilarious if Tsunku pulled a "Chou HAPPY SONG" on us and managed to pull, like, 3 different songs out of this somehow?

I like it sooooooooooooo much and I consider myself a fan that's lost all hope and indifferent to everything, even 123.

But I loved What's Up and this. I'm starting to feel safe enough to feel MM's making a comeback. Please don't let it be a fluke. Now, I feel the true test is that when Tsunku strays away from this style (so that all the singles aren't consistently the same), it's still good and not Pyoko crap.

Oh and Tsunku must have taken a class on how to write more modern songs. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

I'm buying at least 2 copies of this. Good job, Tsunku. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... smooch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='=3=' />

That dance. I wish they would just postpone the release, but they wont because then it would be awkward having 11th gen members floating around doing nothing.

I love a dance when it flows with the song and makes sense. It makes me happy.

The song, it sorta makes you want to get up and dance. I like that all the girls had moments, that's what I like to see in my Musume!

I like it. It's not as good as 123, but it's pretty good. And I think it's great that they're sticking with what they've been doing since it seems to be working for them. They really need something like this to keep things going. So I would say I'm relieved that they're not doing anything weird and guaranteed to fail. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And the line distribution. It's pretty much the same as 123/What's Up. Reina and Riho lead, extra lines for Ayumi, Masaki, Sayumi, and Mizuki, with the latter two being paired up again. I wonder what makes them get into "patterns" like that.

Wow, this song is great, I might even like it more than 123... Been awhile since I've really liked any Morning Musume songs (123 and now this are bringing me back).

Time to spoil everything though: It's STILL the Reina/Riho show no matter how much you look at it <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';/' /> So annoying. Maybe I'm terribly mistaken, but I really feel that before everything became the Takahashi show, the lines were more evenly distributed, even with 10+ members.

This is so awful, I can't even listen to half the song and the dance shot did nothing but piss me off when I watched it. And just when I thought things couldn't get worse than 1,2,3, this happens. I don't know how they keep coming up with worse garbage than before. This is absolute bottom-barrel shit music. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/geof.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geof:' />

I liked One Two Three after two listens or so, but this one...I just can't. There is absolutely no flow to it. If you pause the video and walk away you will forget how it sounds. That's what happened to me - I pressed play after a few minutes and wondered what happened to the sound before it. Too much Reina as usual and Riho, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I don't see this one selling as much as One Two Three, even with ~seven posters~. People complain about other idol groups and gimmicks, but MM is just getting a little desperate.

That being said, I wonder if this sound is temporary? Maybe 11th gen will start something new, a la The Peace? Souda? I hope so, because this new age Morning Musume is just a little sad.

Faith in the world: restored.

I'm glad One Two Three wasn't just a one-off fluke. I rate this one a small notch below One Two Three, but it's still awesome. They can continue with this sound until forever for all I care, even at the expense of having Reina lead again.

I don't see how the multiple editions is desperation? If anything it's just UFA wising up since it's par for the course nowadays in jpop.

I actually like it way more than 123, which I didn't enjoy the first time I listened. I think it's because there's more group lines so it sounds fuller.

I like when Tsunku continues to try new things instead of being predictable and doing the same style of music again and again.

He tried that before and no one really liked it aside from the hard-core fans who think everything is great.

So I embrace his need to play with Morning Musume (as he has always done) and making the girls experience and try new styles of music.

I guess that's what I love/hate about Hello!Project. They aren't given standard idol music 100% of the time.

The multiple editions is just their way of rolling with the times. You offer your fans more and you retain them. Any 48 fan would understand this.

The fact that Tsunku is starting to add in more then one c/w is proof of this and UFA is doing more then just the standard handshake with the box sets is also something new.

UFA also puts their music on iTunes, so I doubt they look at CD sales as their main focus anymore, though it does help in the public eye to maintain a top spot in Japan.

If they wanted people to buy JUST the CDs, they wouldn't have made iTunes an option, but they know they have foreign fans who support them just as much as their Japanese fans.

That said, this is a visual song and Tsunku knows that, which is why they released a dance video first. I just wish the PV would maintain this, but considering their lack luster suck of a PV department probably consists of a group of semi-trained monkeys, I doubt I'll be happy with the outcome. What I want, and what I get is like getting a unicorn to walk into my room and tell me I won the lottery.

The song does stick in my head after several plays but I like the fact that it doesn't have a super catchy chorus that will begin to annoy me, it makes me want to listen to the song more.
