I think the next single is taking a while because Tsunku can't just fall back on Reina. I think one of the main reasons Riho gets a lions share of the lines is because the other girls can't handle that many. Once they can though, Riho will def be sharing the limelight. More stars= more sales. If you are a huge fan of Sayashi AND Kudo, you buy twice as much.

The longest gap of a Morning Musume single was 8 months with Renai Revolution 21 to The Peace. (Their first Best of Album came out in between as well as Yuko's graduation and I think, a very busy concert schedule.) Average is 4-5 months between singles. I think it just seems longer now because they started promoting the last single so early compared to other singles in their old system of promoting after the single was released. A single in August or early September is to be expected. All the hints are there, it just seems they are playing this next single close to the vest. 
 
Riho is this gen's Nacchi, she's getting all the lines, but once new blood starts to come in, she'll be given less and things will start to even out.

If they do sexy, it guarantees creepy comments about young girls, which makes it bad no matter what. I'm not expecting an emo-musume song. I think it's going to be exactly in vein with the last few singles, just with a different exterior.

Hm, never considered that. The only H!P comments I ever read come from the BBS, so I can thankfully enjoy my idols without any sexual weirdness from fans. My favorite Musume looks have always been the smokey eye, dark clothes ones. Pepper Keibu's covers are prime examples (considering the styling they got in the video was totally different).

1. Karin says the new song is hip hop (lol oh god what is tsunku doing. SALT 5: THE REVENGE?) and they'll perform it at the Idol Festival this month.
 
2. They're joining the Zetima label with Morning Musume and C-ute. Does the label even matter though since it's all UFP anyway? In case anyone wonders, Berryz are with King Records and S/mileage are with Pony Canyon.
 
3. Yuka is their leader, and Tomoko is the subleader. Duh.

OMIGOSH those kids were so stinkin cute!   Kana is really good with kids.  At that age, getting kids to do anything is a talent.  Either that or they were slipping the kids cookies.
