The Girls Live Thread

Title is self explanatory! This show is replacing Satoyama, and is in the same timeslot. Whether it will continue once the six months left in the Satoyama contract are up, I don't know.
 
Episode 1
-Rehearsal footage from the winter concert.
-Backstage footage
-Morning Musume and Juice=Juice performances.
 
This episode is basically just H!P Time and Hello!Station mixed together but under a new name. While I didn't enjoy Satoyama, I also can't say that H!P Time's concept also didn't get boring after awhile, so hopefully they'll try to keep this interesting. They have said there will be a focus on showing how the girls prepare for studio lives. So maybe it'll be something like Uta Doki was. Who knows.
 
Next week: Berryz, C-ute, and S/mileage performance + Miyabi, Haruna, Mai, and Risako go shopping for clothes for the studio live.

I actually liked the outdoor stuff of Satoyama, not to mention it featured girls that don't normally get the spotlight. I hope this one doesn't suck, but it doesn't look to be much more than we're already getting from the Youtube show.

Is it just me or did What is LOVE sound off? Like its the worst I've heard them sing it live out of all the performances (including the dokkiri). The mic levels seemed weird too. Oh well.
 
I agree that this is too similar to HaroSute. :(

They were weird in the concert footage from H!S, too. Like in the Smileage performances, Kana was really loud. It was the same with Akari in the J=J performances.

In the same vein of episode 1. No full performances but there is footage from the C-ute, Berryz and S/mileage performances. It looks like next week will have MM and Berryz performing their new singles.

lol those outfits are terrible. But they look exactly like something I'd expect J=J to wear so I guess Haruna is spot on.

I think she chose really cute fashionable things :3 But dang those clothes are expensive! Just Yuka's alone was like $200!

Looking at pictures of the outfits from Yuka's blog, I can see that the only thing I don't like about it is just those odd ears/bows/something on Karin's head.

You mean Sayuki's head right? Because the bunny ears on Karin's head were cute. While the thing on Sayuki's head was unquestionably bad. It almost looked like something you see on a little black baby girl if you grew up in the 90s like me. Head full of bows.

I like the outfits but I think Akari's dress would have been better if it wasn't pink, I think gray would fit with Tomoko's. I didn't understand why there was a light pink cloth with all these black-white-grey outfits. Also I think that Tomoko's hat wasn't a good choice, and (maybe is just me) her style didn't fit with Yuka and Sayuki's, and yes, that thing on Sayuki's head is horrible. Karin was the most "balanced"

Oh wow, I just looked at the picture again (if anyone's curious, it's this one), and that looks exactly like what's on Sayuki's head.
 
After seeing that disaster, I can agree that Karin's ears are not even bad. I just have never had a great liking for bunny ears on anything other than an actual bunny.

Actually it looks like Chisato changed the way that skirt is warn forever.

I actually think Harunan did a great job with the outfits.... Looks like the pulled a little slip with the Risako bunny ears and Chisato skirt. Not sure if Harunan did all of the designing herself, but if so some of the concert stylists should consult her, maybe?

I like Yuka's outfit the most. Tomoko's shirt makes her look pregnant. But she sounded really good in that performance. I like how she changed the way she sings the last note in her first line (she started doing it like a couple months ago, I think). It sounds so much better.

I noticed this too and I think Karin and Sayuki have started doing it too.  It's really awesome how they are doing little things like that.
