This is awesome, but I'm confused. I thought Mai was moving to the US with her husband? I'm kind of worried that the age limit is 10~17. With Mai being almost 30, that's setting up the group for a hell of an age gap. I wonder if they intend to just keep her around to use her variety TV fame to get the new girls out there and then have her graduate once the new group is established =/

To be honest, I wouldn't mind Coconuts...I wasn't too big of a fan of Country Musume's sound pre-FujiKon

Exactly my thoughts! Putting an MM member in it would be a great selling point. I honestly really only like the CM songs with the MM members in it.
 
I wonder if they're going to use any of the Hokkaido eggs (Tanaka Karen & Inaba Manaka). I want Manaka to be in MM, but if she got to debut in CM that'd be cool too!

I would have preferred revamped Country Musume and Coconuts Musume lineups to all that Satoumi and Satoyama back-to-the-land-and-sea nonsense. If they're gonna go back to the land, send them to Hokkaido and give them cowboy hats, cowboy boots and guitars, for cryin' out loud! I think Masaki could do just fine in such a setup.

I would have preferred revamped Country Musume and Coconuts Musume lineups to all that Satoumi and Satoyama back-to-the-land-and-sea nonsense. The way I see it is that they had a hard time getting anyone to care about the themed MM knockoffs then and they're definitely not going to succeed at it now.

Agreed. I never really cared for country Musume or any of the themed Musume groups with the exception of temporary ones with Momusu former or current members. If I am understanding this correctly this was pieced together or Mai's wishes?


It seems odd to me primarily because she moved to the other side of the planet. While auditions are happening in Japan.

Coconuts Musume was bad... I don't diss groups often but Coconuts Musume... just watch some of their music videos.

That's not what I meant lol, I mean like get a group of girls with the Coconuts sound...Like I was more interested in the whole island-y sounding songs than the hokey country stuff (pre-Fujimoto / Konno). 
 
I do agree the original 5 Coconuts was pretty bad though...at least Jounetsu Yuki Miraisen was a bopper....but I couldn't remember any of Country Musume's stuff except Uwaki na Honey Pie, Shining Itoshiki Anata, and Hajimete no Happy Birthday! (due to recent amount of performances).

For the most part, but "Tokonatsu Musume" is all kinds of awesome. And Danielle, for all the shit she took, was one of the best singers the H!P ever had.
