VIP sold out right away. So I managed to get 3 regular tickets. That waiting room was a bust, wasn't it? I think I turned my head away from the computer for an instant and when I turned back the sale was on and I clicked on everything like they said and got the "No Result Found" message. So I had to go to the main page and start over again with the regular tickets, reentering all my payment info. How frustrating.

Well, I just got a regular ticket! Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Sad I couldn't get a VIP ticket, but it's okay I guess. I've never seen MM live before so I'm excited!

Looks like VIP tickets have been popping up again. I guess some people didn't pay and the tickets were released. Also, they changed it from being able to buy 6 of them to a limit of 2. I guess if you keep checking you may have a shot.

Yeah, but VIP was sold out within seconds. I believe there was a pre-sale for AMEX members or something earlier this week.

I sat in the waiting room for half an hour before 12. I know they were sold out. I'm just bummed I had to wait that long to be disappointed.

Seems like you were lucky, I joined the waiting room some 30 minutes early just for the heck of it and watched the page non-stop just before 12. The second the page automatically refreshed with purchase options I selected 2 tickets and clicked find tickets - which took like under 2 seconds - and they were gone already. The page was refreshing itself every 60 seconds, so I guess some people were just lucky that their refresh was closely in sync with the actual server time and they saw the sale page at 12:00:01, whereas others would be late until up to 12:00:59.

I kept trying for some 15 minutes in case some got released when people didn't complete their payments etc., but no luck.

Anyway... If we got the VIP ones we just might have found enough motivation and savings to fly our asses to NY for the weekend, but with regular only it would be a bit of an overkill even for us.

Booked my plane ticket today, which wasn't too painful on my wallet, but hotel prices near the theater are insane. Being in Times Square, it's like $400 a night minimum. It's $150 a night to stay near the airport and under an hour to commute there, so that's probably what I'm going to do.

I'm under the impression that there's all kinds of cheap hotels in Manhattan, sprouting up all over the place. The Comfort Inn on W. 35th St., down the block from my office (about ten or so blocks from the theater), charged me $134 a night when I had to stay there for a job function. But that was nine years ago.

It isn't a scam. A few people called, went to to the BBT to find out the details. It's legit. They do it in order to try and move out left over tickets.

I've got my plane tickets, and I'll be crashing at a friend's apartment in Manhattan.  There's at least three of us from the Bay Area who'll be at Hello!Party.  Is there any other MM-BBS meetup planned?
