S/mileage name change officially announced

ANGERME. Clearly supposed to have something to do with angels judging by the logo but the spelling just never quite made it.


The new name is so hilarious that I actually love it. I fully intend to capitalize it every single time for extra pizzazz.


Anyway, single will be out 2/4 so look forward to that.

No. Everytime I see this I just screw "ANGER ME" which is what it is doing. Any word on how it is actually pronounced? I will still most likely call them Smileage.

Judging how groups in H!P generally work, I doibt s/mileage's group theme is really going to change. The name is hilarious, much better than MM's names.

Damn, I've been out of the S/mileage loop for a while, haven't I? I thought there were only six girls in the group. There are three here I don't recognize. Where did they come from? The one on the far right on the bottom looks like a much prettier version of Ayaka.
 
It took some effort, but at least I'm able to recognize the six I know. 
 
The name change stinks. Looks like I just might stay out of the loop.

The name is amazing and I love it.   Seriously, though, it could be worse. Isn't there a Stardust group called Takoyaki Rainbow? 
 
The girls all look really nice in the profile shots. Except for Rikako's hair.

I hated the name at first since I could only see ANGERME and such, but now, I don't really care. The meaning behind the name is pretty, I just think the romanization was unfortunate. Angerme would call a BIT less attention to the whole ANGER + ME thing.
 
I really like the logo, and Fukuda's blog post was really touching and heartfelt.

ANGERME was proposed by second generation member Nakanishi Kana, and comes from a combination of the French words for angel (ange) and tear (larme).  
That basically explains why there is a tear on the A

I googled around and found a supposedly French word, "Angelum"... maybe that was what they were aiming for? They seriously need to hire a stupid English checker to veto stupid English words they use.

I realized it's easier if you look at it like ANGE-RME. Anju-rumu. I wish it was like ANGE涙 or just all in katakana アンジュルム. But they don't really even use S/mileage and just use スマイレージ so hopefully the same thing happens. I guess now they are Ange or Anju for short (like Suma).
