I'm not upset at all. Like someone said, this was 2k less than Toki Sora's first day sales. They're going to make 100k overall regardless and that's all I'm pleased with.

I fully expected it, they're doing the dome tour ticket thing again with their single.
 
Honestly I'm not super disappointed in the sales, it's not that terrible, they just won't get first this week.

Okay sooooo according to the making of, Kanon was there on the original filming day for sure... So was this like some way to try and get Kanon wota to buy the DVD? I don't think her fanbase is *that* big where it'd affect it that much. Was it simply to promote J=J? Though for a lot of foreign fans it seems to have done the opposite. It's all just very interesting XD
 
Also I just realized that 12ki is the first gen to come in since they've been doing triple-a singles.... 9ki, 10ki and even 11ki started when it was the old way of A-side and B-side... Even for 9ki and 10ki it took 4 or so singles until it turned into a double-a single. Thinking about it in this way, it really must've been tough for 12ki. They said it was pretty difficult...

Quite a lot of people have said that come june or july Oricon are going to stop counting the concert tickets = CD method. So first music cards and now concert tickets. I wonder if they'll stop counting handshake tickets. Personally I'm not entirely sure they will because not all CD's sold at handshake events actually count anyway.
 
I'm happy with the results of day 1 :) They didn't make the #1 spot but their sales are stable which is great news :)
 
Edit: However I do think that UFP need to use a particular member or particular members of MoMusu to get the groups name out there through variety shows and the like. That was one of the main things that Sayu did for the group and even though the sales don't appear to have been affected all that much by her graduation just yet I still think this is a good idea to keep up the momentum.

Hasn't that been Kanon? I remember her doing a couple of episodes for Arashi's show.

I don't usually post all the promo the girls do here because some of it's meh (pretty boring). But this was special because the Jpop Ranking host in American and you know he was going to talk to Miki in English and he didn't disappoint. And neither did Miki!

This is what I mean. I know they have their "variety members" but they need to be doing variety way more often. They only ever seem to be active when there's a new single coming out. That's not really good enough.

#9 Regular A - 8,301

#11 Regular B - 7,370

#12 Limited D - 5,787

#14 Limited A - 4,626

#16 Limited B - 3,190

Total is 32,304 so about 70% of Oricon's total came from non-regular vendors, so probably handshakes. JSB were #1 but if you add up the editions, without handshakes from MM and tickets from JSB, MM did outsell them by about 3k. So, uh, small victory.

Soundscan might also include foreign sales, which Oricon does not, but I'm not sure. I know someone was wondering how Arashi had 40k more in Soundscan vs. Oricon and that was an explanation given (since Arashi doesn't do anything really for their releases).
 
But yeah the difference is crazy.
