I wonder if they are releasing this as an indies single since they remixed the song. It's different than Kikka's version too.
They don't sound that great together tbh. Kobushi does though, so I was kind of surprised.

That wasn't as bad as I expected. But it was still hard to listen to. It's also a covert rip which probably doesn't help their voices.

That says more about Morning Musume than it does about her.


Beyond yikes at those live vocals.  That's pushing it even by idol standards. Kobushi seemed a lot more prepared.  I wonder if they'll be going for a vintage idol kind thing (with worse singing), because I was thinking they gave off that vibe a bit in pictures.  I'd be in favor of that, I love 80's idol music and I'm willing to only listen to their studio versions while staying as far away as possible from their live performances LOL.

Kobushi seemed a lot more prepared.  I wonder if they'll be going for a vintage idol kind thing (with worse singing), because I was thinking they gave off that vibe a bit in pictures.  I'd be in favor of that, I love 80's idol music and I'm willing to only listen to their studio versions while staying as far away as possible from their live performances LOL.

I'm a bit confused - I wasn't referring to Kobushi's vocals or image (which doesn't seem vintage at all), but Tsubaki's.  Kobushi aren't vocally all that great but they're leagues ahead of this group haha.

So after watching the performance on this weeks H!S, they aren't as rough as I thought...I think Risa and Yumeno have the best vocals and funny enough Ami wasnt terrible (is better than Aikawa at least) but she needs to have a little fire in her dancing

I had mixed feelings about this group but after seeing them on H!S I have more confidence in them. Their vocals aren't awesome, but they do have pretty good energy when dancing and in their overall performance.
 
Kobushi certainly seems more powerful, prepared and better, but that is probably because they have been performing Nen ni wa Nen for a little while now. They also seem more vocally advanced.
 
Hopefully in a few months times Tsubaki will improve in the same way.

Observations:


Yumeno, Kisora, and Kiki have the most presence. I can feel the idol aura from them.


Ami is very green. For both her and Kiki to be inexperienced in dancing and singing, there is a huge difference between them. Ami doesn't look confident during the performance, but she's still very new so it can only get better from here.


Kiki has a good sharpness to her dancing that makes her stand out. But it's a double edged sword. Sometimes she was so sharp it made the others look sloppy which can take away from the group unity. In Nen ni wa Nen, part of the reason they look good dancing is because they are all putting the same amount of force into their moves.


Riko still looks awkward on stage sometimes because she is weak in the expressions department. When she smiles full out it's better.


Risa (who unfortunately shares both her last and first name with 2 other newer members) is pretty decent overall. I feel like I can trust her to be a dependable and consistent performer.


I feel like they made this group to be the C-ute to Kobushi, who is basically Berryz. Watching Kobushi afterwards, Kobushi had a much stronger presence and sense of being a "group", but they have spent more time working together doing the play and performing this song. Hopefully when Tsubaki recieves their own song, they'll be better as a group.


Yumeno, Kisora, and Kiki are my overall favorites of this group, despite my bias since Kisora and Yumeno were my favorite Kenshuusei. Kiki wins "best newcomer" award for me.

Same for me, Haru. I think they're adorable, but that performance was really painful for me. I think Ogata the Impostor is probably the best singer of them in general (and performance-wise, like Saya) said, and Yumeno wasn't too bad, Kisora was kinda iff, but the rest are just really... really... bad. Well, maybe Kiki wasn't so bad, either.

On today's episode of H!S, the group got their member colors


Asakura - Light Pink

Tanimoto - Light Purple

Kishimoto - Yellow

Yamagishi - Light Green

Niinuma - Light Blue

Ogata - Light Orange

I like how they've all got light colors and Kobushi had dark colors. Light colors fit Tsubaki's image.


I'm glad Kisora got blue, I know she wanted it, and it suits her well. Now Maria and Akane have others in their color group! I feel like Riko would have suited Ogawa Saki's old shade of green better.


I always feel like kenshuusei who get yellow get gipped, but yellow suits Yumeno really well. I actually predicted blue and yellow for Kisora and Yumeno (my signature proves it!).

I feel like the company isn't ready for them yet since they have CG and Kobushi t deal with right now, but they wanted to make sure the girls they wanted didn't leave KSS in the meantime.


I'm excited for when they start actual activities as this group has my 1st and 3rd favorite kenshuusei (Yumeno and Kisora), and I've been interested in Ami since she joined.

I don't know why they're pushing Kiki as center when she's vocally the worst after Ami (and not the cutest member). But they did the right thing in giving Yumeno most of the lines. I guess we can just say Tsubaki is going down the traditional idol path of starting off not so great and (hopefully) improving over the years. While Kobushi is good vocally already, at least Tsubaki is good at dancing.

As a group the seem so reserved on stage, especially Ami and Risa. You can really tell Ami has the least experience of everyone.
