One and Only - JMelo English Song from MM'15

One and Only, the theme for JMelo. They will start performing it at their next concert (on the 11th).

Will also be the new theme song for JMelo as well.

As said elsewhere this was written by Tsunku with help from ALISA (she's the woman helping them in the video posted below.)

I like what I'm hearing so far from that song. Its what I've always dreamed of. A jpop song (with a group I like) in english (good english).

The english is surprisingly better than I expected. They have the pronunciation down fairly okay. I'm not really that impressed with the song though.

The lyrics are awkward because there are so many better ways to phrase what they said in a nicer way. It sounds like someone with beginning English skills wrote it. Or someone who doesn't know how to write lyrics.

If they want to break through in the West they need to pick a better song. This one is mehtastically generic.

And there's this too. They started this trend of squeezing too many syllables in one line a while ago. It totally breaks the flow of the songs and sounds very awkward. It irritated me a lot in their Japanese songs, and it irritates me even more in English.

Good luck to them though.

I must be bad bad bad for actually liking the song quite a bit, haha... It's got a fresh feeling to it that still seems to retain the spirit of Morning Musume. Personally I like the flow.... And yes, that totally sounded like Kimi no Kawari at that one part wtf XD

I expected another Watsugozara Kamuza Land so I'm pleasantly surprised with their pronunciation, too bad the lyrics are so awkward.

Considering Tsunku had two handicaps (language and voice) against him when creating this song, he did fairly well. I can here some song rehash but that might be intentional if this ends up going on their 60th single. Tsunku likes to do that with this group especially during anniversary singles.

Yeah, they tried to fit too many syllables into parts where it just doesn't sound natural -- Miki's English verse in JKM had the same flaw.

I really like it! I don't find the fast phrases awkward at all, so I've just never understood that complaint since Egao no Kimi wa Taiyou sa (which is funnily enough one of the few idol songs I actively seek out to listen to). I just don't get it, I guess, since I feel it livens up the music and provides the energy to the song that idols are usually trying to portray.

I just feel like nothing will sound fast to me unless we're talking System of a Down Chop Suey kind of lyric smashing. Also a fantastic song anyway.

Ditto. But still, after a first listening, I like it a lot.

Hoping it will be either on their 60th single or opening song of their next album.

And this "Sing a song" part -> SONGS (one of my favorite album track). :D

If we are being honest, there is a good 50% that I can't hear as words but rather just sounds smashed together. I'm glad we got an English song but there are too many words in some places and they just fade together.
