Produce 101 (2016)

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I just finished the episode. I seriously cannot understand why in the world Jellyfish' Nayoung can have that many votes. I don't remember her doing absolutely anything remarkable. Is she getting votes because of labelmates or what?

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
So it looks like I lost 1 of my top 11, Haeyeoung, so I'm going to replace her with Sohee, making my list;
Sejong
Yoojung
Hyeri

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I now have mixed feelings with Sejeong and Mina. If I had to re-make my top I'd replace Seohyung(just because of the eviction), Chanmi and Cathy with Chungha, Pledis' Nayoung and Insun or Yeseul because these 2 are funny to watch.
I hope the 1 vote per people will get Somi back to her throne. I'm sadly accepting Shin's eviction already...

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
Agh I want to listen to the songs but I'll wait to watch the performances on the new episode :( The only thing I can say is Fingertips and 24 Hours are the only 2 songs I liked when they showed them on the previous episode. That San E song sounded like it was going to be so bad and none of you liked it so...

Produce 101 E09 (raw: Mnet, subbed (T101 Subs): Part 1, Part 2 (Dailymotion) or Full (openload) or Full (mm-bbs))
Spoilers ahead.
Because of last week's eliminations and each concept team is supposed to have seven members, the "Fingertips" and "Yum-Yum" teams vote off members, and the "24 Hours" and "Don't Matter" teams choose from the excess pool. The "In the Same Place" team has no adjustments. Pinky (previously "Fingertips"), Lee Soo Min ("Yum-Yum"), and Kim Seo Kyung ("Fingertips") move to "24 Hours"; and Kim Juna ("Fingertips"), Kwon Eun Bin ("Fingertips"), Kim Seo Kyung ("Fingertips"), and Lee Hae In ("Yum-Yum") move to "Don't Matter".
Some of the teams meet their producers while training, and everyone falls for Jin Young.
The rest of the episode focuses on the practices, recordings, and performances of each concept group.

Seo Kyung loses confidence during practice, but after being praised in recording, it boosts her spirits. Juna's husky voice fits perfectly with this song. It's a shame that Hae In left "Yum-Yum" just to be thrown into the hip hop concept and then not even getting the main vocal part she wanted.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
Sejung is still my girl, but I have to say I am super impressed with Yeun Jung and I really can't wait for her to debut in a real group.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I forgot to make my top of the songs:
1. Fingertips
3. Yum-Yum/24 Hours
4. In the Same place
5. Don't Matter
Honestly, In the same place was the best performance of them all, the only reason 24 Hours is ranked that high is because Insun's line (neowa na ishipsa shigan) has been stuck in my head since I watched this episode, that one line is the only reason lol. With that said, I liked those 4 songs, the only one that I didn't quite like was Don't Matter.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I just started watching this on Thursday night, and I'm halfway through ep 7 now. So Hye seems to be the emotional favorite, and I totally get it. Everytime she performs I'm saying to myself "please don't fuck up, please don't fuck up..."

Subs are early this week! Spoilers ahead.
The episode starts with some extra footage with makeup artist Hong Min Chul and public speaking trainer Kim Hyun Ah.
A short segment called "Who Are the Trainees Rooting For?" ranks the top five trainees picked by the members: 5. [SS] Lee Su Hyun, 4. [M&H] Kim Chung Ha, 3. [JYP] Jeon So Mi, 2. [Fantagio] Kim Do Yeon, and 1. [PLEDIS] Pinky.

The announcements are interrupted for two segments. The first shows the trainees thanking Jang Geun Suk for being the main proxy of the nation's producers.
The second is a trainee question relay. One member asks another any question they want.

[*]Hwang In Sun => Kim Na Young. Q: "Kim Na Young, you lied about your age too, right?"
[*]Park Si Yeon => Jeon So Mi. Q: "You registered your birth certificate wrong like me, didn't you?"

The eliminated members are announced, and they say their final words. Members ranked 22 and 23 (SS's Lee Su Hyun and Chorokbaem's Ng Sze Kai) are brought to the stage to dramatically reveal who ranked 22nd.
22. [SS] Lee Su Hyun (14614, +13)
The final part of the episode reveals the last mission: debut song evaluation. From bottom ranked to top, each member can choose her preferred part, up to two members per part. If a higher ranked member wants a part that is already taken, she can choose to bump a lower ranked member off.
The chosen lineup:

On March 26, the remaining 22 members held a guerilla concert in Daegu, Dongsung-ro, which garnered an impressive crowd. Despite being eliminated, In Sun MC'd the event and even makes an impromptu appearance in the "24 Hours" performance.
A fancam playlist of the performances is available on YouTube.

Emm I don't want to be salty with SS Suhyun but, Seohyung, my top 4, ranked 37th when Suhyun ranked 35th. And then Suhyun ranks 22nd while Kai, my favorite, ranked 23rd.
Did I do something to this girls or what? What does she have against me?
Anyway, it is SO SHOCKING to see Jellyfish Nayoung ranked 15, I was so over her I thought she was going to be evicted for sure. How does she have that many votes?
With the little-to-no screentime she gets how can she even be the favorite trainee of that many people, I just don't get it.

Those Guerilla performances are all lipsynched right? Like as far as I can hear they just played the version with 7 members...

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
ˆYup, you can very softly hear the girls singing on top of the track, but the original voice track was definitely there.
The only ones I think didn't lipsync were the ITSP girls (at least Sira and Yeun Jung)... I think Sira's voice cracked during her high note.

If you plan to watch live, I found AQ Stream (you may have to try the different mirrors in the left sidebar) and idoltv both have Mnet streams.

It was expected, but I blame So Hye for Hye Ri not getting in.
CUBE's Jeon So Yeon, SS's Lee Hae In, LOEN's Park So Yeon, and Music Works' Kim So Hee are the others I drafted who didn't make it to the final lineup.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
Spoilers if you're waiting for episode 11 to be subbed.
I.O.I - Crush. This is the studio version of "Crush" performed in the final episode. It seems to have been filmed and edited in less than a day, given their Vapp broadcast yesterday.
Note that this is considered a predebut release, with the group's official debut scheduled for early May.

Produce 101 E11 (raw: Mnet, subbed (T101 Subs): Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (Dailymotion) or Full (openload) or Full (mm-bbs))
Spoilers ahead.
The episode begins with a final interview with the remaining members. It transitions to a performance of "PICK ME", featuring all the members, including earlier eliminated ones. (See also the rehearsal (subbed)).
During the event, viewers can submit a final vote via SMS, counting for seven additional votes toward a single contestant.
Jang Keun Suk reveals that the debut group is going to have a "unique" concept and is named I.O.I (아이오아이).
The next segment is clips from the guerilla concert the top 22 held the week before (March 26). The city of Daegu was chosen for its highest viewership rating (3. Gwangju (4.955%), 2. Changwon (5.484%), 1. Daegu (6.191%)). At the end of the concert, 500 audience members partitipated in a high-touch event, where each could choose a single member to greet. Ranks by counts: 22. [Chungchun] Kang Si Ra, 21. [MBK] Ki Hee Hyun (Cathy), 20-18. [Starship] Yu Yeun Jung, [Jellyfish] Kim Na Young, [LOEN] Park So Yeon, 17. [CUBE] Jeon So Yeon, 16-14. Producer Jin Young, along with Kim Sung Eun, gathers everyone in a studio to present a new song written for the members: "When the Cherry Blossoms Fade". (Fun fact: OH MY GIRL's Seung Hee recorded the guide track for both this and "In the Same Place".)
A final training and practice segment is next. The trainers talk about their time with the members and thank you video messages from the members are played back.
Ryan Jhun brings everyone into the studio to record the group's predebut song "Crush". Despite having confusing body language, he complements Choi Yoo Jung for rapping and Jeon So Yeon for singing.
The next segment is "Corner in a Corner" with MC So Mi, Su Hyun, and Eun Woo.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I've never enjoyed a Korean show more than I've enjoyed Produce 101 and its final episode. But the announcements... I get that they wanted to make it emotional and epic but it turned out a bit slow and boring to me.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
After reviewing the episode, I can see how it can be considered slow. At nearly three hours, it's incredibly long, and if you were spoiled by the final lineup, the latter half the episode wouldn't be very interesting. (This is unlike the previous announcements where you may know the top 11 but not know if your favorites survived.) The live format of the episode also doesn't help, especially if you're used to the tighter editing and pace of the previous episodes.
I watched the episode live when it aired last Friday, and maybe because the final results were still unknown, it was far more enjoyable. I even spent a whopping 0.10 USD to send an international text message to vote.
I also joined a live chat while watching. It peaked at ~300 users when the ranking announcements started. Once you got past the people spamming animated gifs, it made the episode so much more entertaining to watch (shoutouts to the people who were translating on the fly). When everyone is on the same page, no one can spoil or be spoiled. In real time, you could see the uproars caused by Mi Na's and Pinky's comebacks in the ranks, polar views of So Hye being in the final line up, huge support for Chung Ha, and of course, upset when people's favorites didn't make it.
The final episode is best appreciated having no premonition of the final lineup. It's truly how the anticipation is built.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
I managed to avoid looking at the results so I could see it unfold naturally on the subbed video. I downloaded it, because our internet has been buggy, and I didn't want any streaming problems. I couldn't figure out why it was taking so fucking long to complete the download until I noticed it was almost three hours long. Ugh. It was 11:15 PM when I started it, lol! Jesus, could they stretch this thing out any longer? When they started to announce the final 11, I noticed that there was still like an hour and 20 minutes to go. I couldn't fathom how it could take that long just to announce eleven names, but goddamn, they were up to the task!
Anyway, pretty much all of my favorites made the cut, although I had to wait for Yu Yeonjung's name to be called to seal that deal. Was pleasantly surprised that Pinky came back to secure a spot, too. I'd have been happy had either Sejeon or Somi won 1st, but I was pulling for Somi. Her margin of victory over Sejeon was greater than the total most girls received -- unreal. And I know a lot of people are upset about Sohye being in the group, but I'm not one of them. I've always said that idol groups can survive one or two less-talented members -- and can even thrive if those members bring an interesting personality -- which I think she does. And who doesn't like a hard working underdog? I'm looking forward to their debut.

Re: Produce 101 (2016)
CJENM re-uploaded a new version of that cheap MV for Crush and also deleted the original one.
Why? Well, people were complaining about Yunjung being an attention whore in the original version, pushing members away and trying to be always at the center.
Apparently they responded by deleting the original MV, and making a new one with almost NO YUNJEONG. They show Sejeong singing Yunjung's chorus and also, in the original version Yunjeong is at the center in the last shot, but this time they replaced that shot with one focusing Somi and almost all the other members of course excluding Yunjung.
If you notice, by looking at the other members, that shot does not even match with the actual choreography of the original video, they deliberately showed a shot were Yunjung couldn't be seen.
She basically got a Suzuki Kanon.

Do you have a source on this or is it speculation? I thought they were just goofing off anyway.
I had to look up a comparison video, but the changes aren't that drastic. If it was done because of member screen time allocation, it's still completely imbalanced. Chae Yeon, Do Yeon, and Chung Ha all hide in the back during the dance shots, and Do Yeon has no studio shots. The biggest blow is replacing Yeun Jung with a shot of the peak meters at 1:58.

There's been a lot of talk about the subject.
I guess she's making the most news out of the group. These fandoms are so ridiculous sometimes... honestly. I hope she can make the most out of this hard time. Her vocals are incredible!
