Alright, time to do mine as I've sat down with the songs :D, though I'm skipping over OST songs (surprisingly enough most of the OSTs weren't really that great TBH, maybe exception of MODE.
Momusu '16
- Mukidashi de Mukiatte
- Utakata Saturday Night!
- Sexy Cat no Enzetsu
- Sou Janai
- The Vision
- Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi (TYPE B)
- Tokyo to Iu Katasumi
- Utakata Saturday Night (Kawanabe Hiroshi REMIX)
I'd say Momusu had an OK year, I didn't have too many problems with any of the A-sides + TYPE B. Still going to miss Zukki a bit and the whole 13th Gen will be KSS will be interesting to watch getting used to some of these dances. My only disappointment is that we still didn't get "Watashi no Nanni mo Wakacchanai"...like is this the longest we'd had to wait for this one? Anyways, not a bad year, but not an amazing year.
C-ute
- Mugen Climax
- Summer Wind
- Jinsei wa STEP!
- Naze Hito wa Arasoun Darou?
- Ai wa Maru de Seidenki
- Singing ~Ano Koro no You ni~
- Jinsei wa STEP! (Lil'Yukichi Remix feat. Cherry Brown)
For me C-ute was also kind of in the middle of the road this year. Mugen Climax and Summer Wind slayed me though and are some of the best songs they've got in quite a while so props to that. Even Jinsei and Naze were also good too. Though they dropped the ball heavily with that 2nd single. Seidenki and Singing felt weird? Like they really didn't belong on the single more or less with Mugen Climax...and the remix was HORRID...like why even...
ANGERME
- Tsugitsugi Zokuzoku
- Umaku Ienai
- Wasurete Ageru
- Ai no Tame...
- Itoshima Distance
- Koi Nara Tokku ni Hajimatteru
- Tsugitsugi Zokuzoku (SWG REMIX)
I wonder why groups this year have been so middle for me. I felt that ANGERMEs 2nd single was all-around great and the placing for those tracks could be rearranged and I'd be fine. It was Meimi's last single that kind of was a bit out there. I LOVE Tsugitsugi though, that was just epic, but Itoshima Distance was here and there and Koi Nara felt a bit lazy for a Tsunku track especially if that was Meimi's goodbye song...and yeah bad remix.
Juice=Juice
- KEEP ON Joshou Shikou!!
- Dream Road ~Kokoro ga Odoridashiteru~
- Otona no Jijou
- Karada Dake ga Otona ni Nattan ja nai
- Next is you!
- Ashita Yarou ga Bakayarou
With that tour of theirs, I'm pretty sure they were worn out like crazy! So happy it's over! I thought their first single of the year was a bit boring and kind of to-the-books for them (this is including Otona). Luckily they picked up with their 2nd single although I loathe Ashita Yarou and I can't quite put my foot on why...maybe the disjointed chorus is probably where I check out. Still KEEP ON and Dream Road were surprisingly fresh for them and I loved it!
Country Girls
- Koi wa Magnet
- Boogie Woogie LOVE
- Namida no Request
- Dou Datte Ii no
- Ranrarun ~Anata ni Muchuu~
- Kiss Yori Saki ni Dekiru Koto
Like others, I'm pretty bummed that Manakan left, but I do love that Funakki managed to put in those lower tones that she sounds so good in into use and not-so-much being squeaky cute (thx Yanamin!). Magnet and Boogie were awesome songs though Ranrarun was annoying and repetitive to listen to (same with Dou Datte honestly). Namida no Request stuck out with that nice melodic chord in the intro. Not much to say about Kiss Yori other than, no wonder why it's left on a Petit Best (just not a good song for them).
Kobushi Factory
- Kenmei Blues
- Sakura Night Fever
- Osu! Kobushi Tamashii
- Ora wa Ninkimono
- Isogaba Maware
- Bacchikoi Seishun!
- Zanshin
- Kobushi no Hana
- TEKI
- Chotto Guchoku ni! Chototsu Moushin
- Samba! Kobushi Janeiro
- GO TO THE TOP!!
- Mijiku Hanjuku Torotoro
I'll probably skip up the covers, but those are pretty good, better than some of the cover H!P has done in the past of other H!P songs. For me, since Kobushi had the largest amount of songs released in 2016, there's a lot here. Singles-wise, Sakura, Osu!, and Ninkimono were the highlights for me (strange since people seemed to hate 2/3 of them loool). I don't know why but Chototsu Moushin and Bacchikoi were kind of forgettable to me and Samba! was just strange and unfitting for their first album. I get that it was for the Olympics but it's for sure a seasonal song and is kind of strange as the only not pop/rock song on the album.
As for the album songs, Kenmei Blues is just epic and Isogaba was getting there too! Zanshin, Kobushi no Hana, and TEKI were decent (the latter a bit TOO short). Then there's GO TO THE TOP!! and Mijiku Hanjuku Torotoro and both were rather forgettable fluff for the album...
Tsubaki Factory
- Kedakaku Sakihokore!
- 17sai
- Hitorijime
- Watashi ga Obasan ni Nattemo
- Seishun Manmannaka! (2nd Take)
- Cabbage Hakusho ~Haru-hen~
Despite looking like they were the busiest group of the year (2 singles, a mini, appearances in 3 OSTs) and gaining new members, sounds wild! Anyway, I loved Kedakaku right from the start and surprisingly I might be one of a few that loved the Moritaka covers (even if the EDM was a bit stretched). Hitorijime was cool too. Manmannaka! I think didn't need the minute upgrade it got and Cabbage Hakusho is still clunky of a song.
Buono!
- Rock no Seichi
- Solatido ~Nee Nee~
Honestly, I didn't care for the single anyway...just liked that Rock no Seichi has a nod to "Bravo Bravo" in it.
