Announced today, a triple A-side single for Morning Musume, to be released in October. No date's been given yet but there is speculation it will be early October. This will be Duu's last.

Both are upbeat according to his notes, though Jama has sad undertones due to being in a minor key.

Wakai has Haruka's image, but it's a song that they can keep using in the future--good for encores and such.

I like it! it's easy to listen to. it reminds me of Maple Story or something lol. It's giving me some hope for a bop out of the other two songs

That's going to be a nice little concert song.

I find that some songs, especially in Hello!Project, only work in a group/concert setting. They just carry a whole different feel to them. Something about the energy in the group and crowd can just carry a lackluster song and make it into it's own thing. It's something a music video and a basic single just can't really pull off.

This seems like one of those songs. I can already hear the fans doing their DO! call.

Also, I thought this felt really C-ute to me. Morning Musume's signature EDM beeps and then the C-ute song rhythm (I'm not sure how to describe it).

Oh... I'm so disappointed. Even on my third listen I didn't like it. It was like gerneric J-Pop and generic American Pop smash up. Those high notes already don't sound great so I can only imagine how they'll sound live :/

I thought it would have a bit more oomph since he described it as an encore song. I agree with Saya, the high notes will probably be horrible live. Also, I feel like the vocals on this are SUPER LOUD. To the point where they drown out the instrumental.

I started to post my first impressions, then it turned into a blog post. Short version: I'm not a fan of this. The money quote: "This song never really goes anywhere. It's an M.C Escher staircase of motifs built with sounds and techniques they've been rehashing since 2014." Anderei's point about the mix is dead-nuts on, and it makes everything I don't like about the arrangement even worse. I hope the full, non-radio-rip mix is better, and contains some unexpected twist or odd chord, because what we got here is 2:20 of ordinary.

Good points, Anderei and JPope. In fact I do feel that H!P songs have some kind of weird mixing lately. It's very obvious live when they turn up the background vocals, but with this song the instrumental and vocals aren't balanced either. I thought this would be a problem of the somewhat less professional digital songs (like Miss Henkan!! who already was mixed badly) but now it's in an official, physical release as well.

Could still be the rip quality, though.

Speaking of rip quality. I found this rip of the song, which has obviously been manipulated to appear more, concert recorded like, instead of radio rip. I was kind of thrown off the first time I heard it.

I just imagine this as the last song at Duu's grad, like how Endless Sky and Utakata were for Riho and Kanon and..... lol. I mean, it's a good song to focus on Duu but it's not a very energetic or uplifting one.

I didn't expected that either and I don't really like them ; Sakura's outfit seems elegant and Chisaki's dress color is fine but besides these, those colors really hinder me to appreciate their clothes design.
