I thought it was a great episode, the variety of situations was a cool mix, out and about, MV making, PB making.
I seriously prefer this to the old H!M format of Karaoke game / boring skit / live performance of someone, sure it was good at first but it became so formulaic.
When was the last time if ever, that we got to see Sudou Maasa's personality for so long?

I am not much of a Berry'z follower so the whole cosplay bit was a bit zzz and it dominated the episode. However, yes, the other bits were fun and I agree the mix of situations was a nice change.
And yes, the TV show even pointed out that the host was a woman.

i guess if you have no interest in Berryz then yeh it would be rather long and dull.
I never really liked Berryz at first, but one day I took the oppotunity to watch every MV on youtube and I was amazed that I actually LOVED every single song except for the silly monkey dance one.
If C-ute hadn't been awesome recently I would have no interest in them but ever since campus life they have been cranking out the hits non stop.

I loved this week's episode, probably because I really want to go to that bar/cave Jin works at. But since it's almost a host club it is pricier than general Garcon Cafes (where females dress as males). I had a favorite cafe I went to for three years but it closed down last year and I miss my "boys".
Aka the above reflection is to point out that yes these cafes are quite common now. Actually weird to see in Akihabara since it is more geared towards guys so maid cafes are the norm. Next week they will be going to Maidreamin which is a chain maid cafe that also has garcons working at the bars. Maasa's geekiness is adorable and I would say what people are interpreting as her flinching from the garcon weren't that at all, it was the awkward embarrassed feeling everyone who goes to a garcon establishment feels at first. But, then you get used to it and form bonds with your favorite garcons. The flirting is the embarrassing part, with its over the top feeling straight out of a manga scene.
I laughed at Zukki watching Reina film for inspiration but then not using anything she'd seen and being called out for it.

Yukarin loves her doggies! They must cover the poor girl in makeup all the time, because she has several moles on her nose that you usually never see. Also, Haru should totally be the 5th member. She can dance and bites people far less often than Saki.
Sayu molests members with a camera during the Only You jacket shoot.

This episode was interesting. I was looking forward to the maid cafe part the most. I think Risako and Maasa were overwhelmed by how exaggerated everything is. But I guess that's the charm of a maid cafe.
Yuuka Time was ok. It definitely wasn't as entertaining as Maimi Time with her two dogs. But, good effort for getting the dog to dance. ;)

I love that Yuuka's dog has a mini toy version of himself. This episode was too fun...Wota dancing at the maid cafe!? One of the maids was super pretty too.
And, I also find that female/male escort kind of hot.
Kind of disappointed we saw no real clips of the auditions but its sort of heartening to see a line of girls outside.

Haha the maid cafe was funny. The maid girl was really enthusiastic and Maasa and Risako were all 'um yeah, yay and whatever'. Some of Risako's facial expressions are priceless, you can tell she thought it was lame. How much energy would you need to have to work in one of those cafe's! Jesus that girl wouldn't stop bouncing about! M+R looked a bit uncomfortable sitting there. They looked like they wanted to get out of there the entire time.

As much as I like Risako and Maasa, I wanted a little better reaction to the situation they were in. Some members of H!P have a more "Just go with it" attitude to situations and I tend to like them better. Risako really failed at that with the maid cafe.

The Wagamama set they got cost like 3,300 yen...their food cost cost 3,000 yen each, they had to pay an intial 300 yen fee to get in I think, and then the rest of the bill was the time they were there. I think it was like 2 hours or something, they must charge by the hour to stay there or something.

I really enjoyed the show again this week, the awkwardness that I saw from Risako in my opinion was down to the fact I don't think they wanted to be recognized and then for some kind of drama to happen.

Maimi, Chisa and Maimai set things on fire! Damn, how I miss yaki-niku. I do not, however, miss fiddy dollars apiece for two hours of all you can eat. Mai and Chisa dress far to nice to sit around a fire pit, but bonus points for putting their hair back in ponytails to dig in. Also, adorable pictures and HP Kids audition footage. Apparently Maimai was raised by wolves since only about half her food makes it into her mouth. Finally, they weigh in on the S/mileage member auditions and the possibility of new C-ute members (NO!).
Mano shoots a PV outside and doesn't wear a single bikini. And that sucks. Ah well, she looks cute and we don't have to listen to her sing.
S/mileage concert hijinks! New members is still the worst idea ever, but Kanyon kissing Dawa helps ease the pain. Also, rappers should interview them more often. Includes a performance of their new single. I totally dig the Folder 5 vibe.
