Best and Worst Singers in H!P's History?

Re: Best and Worst Singers in H!P's History?
Best: Nakazawa, Fujimoto, Ayaya, Danielle, Yuki Maeda.
Worst: Koharu, Konno, Eri Kamei, Aika, Sayumi
This is off the top of my head, and doesn't include any of the singers from groups that I don't follow.
Takahashi is over rated by H!P fans, IMO. She started out very strong, but stopped improving after a few years, when she started to regress as a singer.

I understand the confusion, but part of my opinion is based off of quality of voice, because unless one has the sheet music, one can't KNOW if they're hitting the right notes or not, and since songs with dances frequently don't have much in the way of range, it's fairly possible that the almost monotonous parts are meant to be like that. Also, with the ºC-ute girls, I'm going off of more recent songs, because I can't hold sounding like a child against them when they were actually children, and Berryz Koubou still sounds really childlike, but also I don't listen to many of their songs, so that may not still be the case with all of its members.
I'm curious though as to why you don't agree with Mitsui Aika, like I get that I like Junjun and not Linlin and basically everyone else is the other way around, but I guess I haven't heard much negativity towards Aika, so please explain, I am intrigued

I think most bases have been covered as far as who I personally consider to be the best and the worst, but I think that Mika Todd deserves an honorable mention. I thought she did really well in Mini Moni (at least in the recordings, I didn't watch too many of their live performances) and continues to in whatever band... thing... she's got going on, as well as some solo work I've seen her do on youtube.

If you read the rest of that sentence, you should have been able to understand it, a lot of people say that certain idols don't have much range, but a lot of songs don't have much range, hence the whole "monotonous" part of that sentence, I wasn't really talking about when people are off key during performances or what not.

LOL I read the rest of your sentence, you simply failed to properly explain yourself, bro. The way you wrote it made it sound as though you were referring to being off key as simply "singing in a monotone", which is lulzy in and of it's self and I was clearly not the only one confused.

I know, I'm sorry, I don't express myself through writing and typing very well, but that's why I put in that part about the small range.

Re: Best and Worst Singers in H!P's History?
Technically speaking, Iida Kaori probably wasn't the best, but, especially in her solo works, she shined and her voice was absolutely a perfect match. Miki was also in a similar boat, but I don't know that her solo works were a perfect match. Maeda Yuki and Nakazawa Yuko get high marks.
Worst? I'd go with Konno, Ogawa, Niigaki, Ishikawa, Sayumi, or cutesy-Reina It's gotta be Horseface McGee.

Re: Best and Worst Singers in H!P's History?
Looks like half the people here probably listened to 2 or 3 songs or performances by a certain person or group and wrote these lists. Seriously. I think Madara put it best, except he forgot to put Momoko in the "bad voices" section.

Glad to see that people are still so closed-minded when it comes to music. Carry on.

Kaori did an album where she sang songs in languages other than Japanese, including French, Italian and English. It's quite an amazing work. If you don't have patience for the kinds of songs she sings, that can interfere with your enjoyment of them. I can understand that. I love Kaori, but I have to be in a certain mood to listen to her albums.
Have you ever watched her sing a solo? She's fascinating to watch, because she totally zones out, immersing herself in the song, as if nothing else exists. I don't know that any other H!P soloist has ever quite performed that way.

It's definitely not standard fare as far as H!P stuff goes, but her solo albums are some of the only albums in my playlist for when I need relaxation or background music. They're almost passive songs, but, for what they are, they kind of captivate me.
Also, I gave a presentation in high school about da Vinci and, during my slideshow, I think I played Jasmine and Lila no Kisetsu (from Paradinome)in the background.I got an A+. So nyah.

Sayumi isn't even allowable as a choice when she herself says she's their worst singer. It's people like Koharu that actually THINK they can sing that belong here.

Sayumi isn't even allowable as a choice when she herself says she's their worst singer. It's people like Koharu that actually THINK they can sing that belong here.

I can't believe I forgot her. D: Papancake makes my ears bleed.

Not only did you bump a three year old thread up, but you did it with a terrible opinion.

Re: Best and Worst Singers in H!P's History?
Everyone has their own opinion, you can't fault them for having one. It's such an old bump. I had to go back to see what I wrote. Might as well make it a worthwhile bump considering how old this thread is. Right?

People are missing, because I don't care either way enough about them to add them to the list and new girls aren't added because of obvious newbie reasons.

Chisato is awesome. Did you hear her solo of "Only You" at the 2013 Yaon Premium Live show? Someone here can link to it. It's the one where she had a headset problem and they came out and fixed it onstage mid-performance and she never once broke a note.
