I am watching Dracula 2000 on Netflix right now because I have nothing better to do. It's not exactly good, so I'm doing other things at the same time.

Earlier today, I saw Exam, which I do recommend. A little predictable, but that can make it more fun to watch...

Watched Kitano's newest movie, Outrage Beyond, during the Viennale.

When the Office Kitano intro played at the beginning, I had goosebumps.

What an ending.

Watched Hotel Transylvania. 6 out of 10.

++++SPOILER ALERT++++

Mavis is a the sheltered vamp daughter to Dracula who on her 118 birthday is allowed to go into the outside worlds. When she does she's chased out of town with pitch forks and torches. Turns out it's not a real town but a fake one so he could keep her at home. Most of the movie is planing her party and then a backpacker comes to the hotel not knowing it's for monsters. Dracula not being able to get rid of him without notice makes him dress up as a monster.

You can pretty much guess what happens next. It's a pretty predictable movie and the music and dance numbers are great, not Rio or Happy Feet great but still great. It's supposed to be a children's film but Dracula's anger outbursts are NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!

I'm kinda on a cinema marathon it seems. I've been to the cinema 5 times in the last ~6 weeks.

TDK Rises, Expendables 2, Outrage: Beyond and...

James Bond: Skyfall, which was pretty good. MUCH better than the crappy Quantum of Solace (and not just because that one had hilariously screwed up scenes in Austria that made no sense). Maybe it was riding a bit too much on the "this is all old stuff we're presenting you here, so you better nostalgia hard over it" train.

On the other hand, Looper was kinda weird. It definitely had its moments, but I can't quite put my finger on it why I was not completely blown away. certainly not a bad movie though. It reminded me of 12 Monkeys, but 12 Monkeys is a masterpiece and Looper is only very good. I was surprised the kid played such a big role.

Finding out that Tarantino is going to release a new movie in Dec/Jan, made me very joyous.

Went to Wreck-It Ralph last night and thought it was really cute. My boyfriend and I were on the edge of our seats whenever there'd be scenes with multiple video game characters wandering around, trying to find ones we recognized. I squealed when I saw Chun-Li!

And I really wish Sugar Rush was a real video game. ...maybe without the AKB song though.

I am pretty excited about this movie, but who knows if I'll see it while it's still in theatres.

I think it's funny that Jane Lynch manages to be typecast, even when voice acting.

It's an ongoing joke my mother and I have.

I'm honest going to see it for three reasons.

1.AKB48's Sugar Rush

2.Jane Lynch

3.It's Pixar(Good track record: Up, Despicable me, Finding Nemo,Rio, Bolt...etc)

Actually, Wreck-It Ralph isn't Pixar either, it's just Disney. It definitely lacked the quality of a Pixar film.

I think Dreamworks animation movies are clearly inferior to Pixar movies, with the exception of Madagascar 1.

I can't stand Shrek.

The Disney ones are somewhere between the two.

I agree with that. Pixar films all have a certain charm to them that others can't replicate. And they don't need to rely on shitty, modern music to push their films. True, Perfume was in Cars 2 but that's far from being Rihanna (whose song was in WIR), and Perfume's awesome.

How to Train Your Dragon was extremely cute though.

Some choice quotes from the movie I am watching:

[story about having a twin brother and mom dying at birth]

Still, my father tried to raise us the best he could.

Every day, he would even feed us milk from his breast.

But still, my brother died.

I am not sure if the man-breast milk was the cause.

I don't know what kind of crack the so-called critics have been smoking, because the Hobbit was AMAZING! Watching it in 48 fps was unreal. It truly is a game-changer for the film industry.

I saw The Hobbit and my feelings are mixed. Some scenes are amazing (see: the beginning fight at Lonely Mountain) and some scenes look like they were intentionally sped-up (see: the beginning hobbit hole scenes). It just felt cheap in a lot of places and I thought the editing was wonky, especially in the beginning. The 48fps wasn't inherently bad, but it made the slow scenes really beautiful and the action scenes way too fast. I still question if I'll bother with the sequel.

My (and my friend's) first impression after seeing the Hobbit: They should have made only two and not three movies out of it.

I can't say the opening act was the most boring part, it's more like there were parts inbetween that seemed redundant or could have been cut. Overall, it felt like a good 20 mins should have definitely been cut and left as DVD/BR extras.

We too watched it in 48fps 3D and the visual quality was stunning. I have never seen a better looking movie in any cinema ever. It most probably even surpassed Tron Legacy in 3D.

We watched it at a cinema that had some new kind of Dolby technology, which was also really neat, especially when Gollum/Smeagol was hiding and talked off-screen.

I would have prefered 2D 48fps simply because of the colors being a lot more vivid without the cheap polarizing 3D glasses. Again, for the most part, 3D didn't impress me much and the ghosting was distracting, especially during the subtitles when the elvs talk.

I watched it in German, which was amusing as always if I'm used to something in English. Also, will be doing my German Gollum impression every chance I get for the forseeable future.

Copying and pasting shamelessly from my Facebook.

"The Hobbit was good, but absurdly long and draggy. 3 hours on a third of that book, really? And I say this as someone who very much likes that book. The first scene at Bilbo's house was definitely the worst offender in terms of drag, but I could see almost every portion of the movie shortened without anything of value being lost. I assume they'll be spending an equal amount of time on the other two films, which means an excruciating NINE HOURS spent on one relatively short book. That being said, there were some utterly amazing moments, and the riddle game was probably my favorite of those. I would not characterize my opinion of the film as negative, overall. The awesome moments and the visuals (which were amazing by themselves but also had the best use of 3D I've ever seen in a movie) were worth the price of admission for me, but that just made the draggy bits seem that much more unnecessary."

I went and saw Django Unchained last night. I knew very little about it, but it was amazing. Action, comedy, and drama converge into an amazing three hour experience. I've only seen a little Tarantino, so I don't know how close it is to his style of filmmaking, but it's just right. Excellent pacing, fantastic cinematography, and just pitch-perfect writing and delivery. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, and Samuel L Jackson just kill this movie. Slavery in America is such a touchy subject and there is no shame in this movie. It's not afraid and it gives the movie a laser-focus on the story, not the setting. Go see it.

Will absolutely do, saw the trailer when we went to go The Hobbit and immediately decided to go see it.

I would have watched it anyway, as everybody knows I'm a whore for Tarantino movies.

Exactly how Tarantino is it? I thought his last movie was the most self-indulgent piece of shit I've ever seen on screen. Honestly, the only movie of his I've liked is Jackie Brown, and that's the one he had the least to do with.

He was the director and wrote the script for it.

The movies he had "the least to do with" were Four Rooms and Sin City.

Cloud Atlas - beautiful visual trip that you should treat yourself to. I can see how the opinions about this movie are very polarized, because it's so easy to either love or hate it. It's worth the risk though, because if you find yourself in tune with the underlying thread that connects all the stories, you'll enjoy every second of it. On the other hand, it probably won't work for people with short attention spans and looking for simple answers. Though the key may be to just stop thinking too hard and just enjoy the flow. Although on the surface it may seem like a random patchwork, it does have this oneiric quality where everything falls into place and makes perfect sense. And is a rare chance to see some big names in some very unusual performances. It's probably too late for most of the civilized world, but if you have a chance, watch it on the big screen. If you're debating which 3-hour movie of the season to see this weekend, I'd definitely go with this one.

I loved it. It was a visual feast, but getting two more almost 3 hour movies out of such a small book seems odd, but if it means more Bilbo, Thorin and Kili, then I'm in (Yes I've read the book so I know what happens ). Like, why didn't we get six LOTR movies then?!!
