LoVendoR thread, aka Reina's in a Rock Band

There is a strict no drinking rule for their first concert at the Liquidroom, lame. But I guess the only thing worse then swarms of Wota, are drunken swarms of Wota. But I like the idea of being able to have a cold beer while listening to live H!P artists (or OGs).





Also looking at the Liquidroom schedule I see "Bullet For My Valentine" is also playing a few weeks before, sweeet.

Before you say that I think you really need at least a sample of their music first. You can't go by how they look and what Reina did before.

True, but I can go off the fact that they're a group with somewhat average ability (somewhat mediocre, going off their auditions) formed by an idol company, that doesn't even have an actual rhythm section. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this group be awesome, but I have a feeling they'll be very, very watered down and much more on the idol-y side of idol rock.

That "snobbish" element of music fans doesn't really exist in Japan.

It certainly does in the rock community, I can assure you that. You should see the way legitimate rock fans have reacted to, for example, Golden Bomber. And I wouldn't say it's snobbery - an idol band really just isn't in the same genre or league as someone like Bullet For My Valentine. It's kind of weird for them to be playing those kinds of venues - they should be playing places more along the lines of a group like Zone.

Yeah, but no one gives a shit about those "real" rock bands playing live houses. In Japan, girl rock is Zone, Scandal, Nakanomori Band, etc. They'll do just fine as long as Reina doesn't fuck it up since she's the weak link in the whole thing.

Really? She has the fans, singing skill, and a decade of showbiz experience. I fail to see how she is the weak link. Ya it's a new group and style of music, but really It's going to be pop music with a guitar solo and less lovey-dovey lyrics. So I doubt Reina will fuck it up.

I only see Reina as a weak link if they do rock that isn't idol rock (unlikely) only because of the way she's been taught to sing for the past 10 years. Otherwise, I agree, she's not a weak link, since she'll be the main reason people pay attention in the beginning.

I think they're playing some of the places MKB played during the final years. (Of course they had established bands to play the instrumentals, but still)

Nobody who looks down on any music is in anyway shape or form legitimate.



Like what you like and don't what you don't. If they don't like Golden Bomber or Lovendor don't go to the show, turn the channel over, crying like a bunch of whiny ass babies just makes real music fans look like a bunch of kids.
