Oh wow, Mikaeri Bijin's got someone other than Tsunku on lyrics and composition.I guess either he must still be tired from all the recovering he's been doing this year or that.... there's nothing special to it at all, haha.

Just on a side note for those on I!S, Alita will order that single for us without her usual 15% (only 50¥ of charge per single) ; like that our order will be counted in Oricon ranking. (And we could choose the shop we want her to buy our CD).

Has there ever been a Morning Musume recording written by someone other than Tsunku that wasn't a cover of an older song?

All of the H!P releases have only been two tracks since they announced Tsunku had cancer. And since Mikaeri is listed third and not written by Tsunku it kind of seems like they brought in new people because they couldn't just leave it with one main song and a Sayumi solo.

Well, that could explain why an outside composer was brought it, but not why there's a third song. The third song is likely due to Sayumi graduating, although we can't even say for sure that there wouldn't be a third song if she wasn't graduating, because there is no set-in-stone formula for how MM singles are put together.

In order to avoid spam people/bot, they don't accept people who don't have some idols stuff on their profile. I had the same problem and Thea helped me so I guess I can help you about that :).

Which guys.  Even though it contains literally no one from my top ten all time members, that is my favorite MM PV EVER.
 
Moving on...I have almost 700 points on CDJapan so I decided that for Sayu's grad single I deserve a physical copy....I usually only buy physical copies of Momoclo, Shachihoko, and Berryz, so SAYU FEEL HONORED.

He also only composed Watashi ga Tsuiteru (Ambitious!'s B-side), while Kimura Shinji did the lyrics. Sayonara no Kawari ni was also written and composed by some BANANA ICE person, but it's a cover of a song from Oha-Star to begin with, so that's probably not really a huge surprise.

I think the story goes that the financial backers didn't yet trust Tsunku to write an idol song, so they just bought "Ai no Tane" for MM's "test" single. They don't even consider it a proper single in their discography.

Getting an Oricon #1 on this triple A single will be very hard for MM'14... Here are the other openers that week:
 
Kanjani Eight, Sandaime J Soul Brothers (EXILE), Morning Musume 14, SEKAI NO OWARI, Mizuki Nana, GLAY, Flower, FTISLAND, NIshino Kana, Ikimono Gagari, Miura Daichi, Yamasaki, SOusuke, Nitori Aiichirou, MIkoshiba Momotarou, Taketastu Ayana, Kurosaki Maon, Tia, Wakeshima Kanon.
 
Kanjani Eight is a group managed by Johnny's... Their last two singles reached 350,000 and 165,000 in the first week. Exile hasn't had a huge impact this year, but they're a well-known group. Mizuki Nana usually hits 2nd or 3rd on the charts her opening weeks.... We'll just have to see! O_o

This is going to be super challenging for them, but hopefully the Sayumi wota will pull through and deliver them to victory. They better promote the shit out of this single if they seriously want to continue their streak and for Sayumi to go out with a bang.

Since I arrived in Japan, Exile Tribe posters everywhere in Tokyo Metro (and elsewhere). It's going to be a damn hard week to get #1... But still, fingers crossed.

SEKAI NO OWARI has a pretty dedicated fanbase as well, from what I've seen. Were they banking on the whole grad single thing to overtake all of these artists or what?
Ugh it's times like these I wish I had more CDJapan points, or I'd buy every edition in one fell swoop.

CD Japan also found out earlier this year that what they sell internationally has not been counting towards Oricon.
