Question about the Up Up Girls. Someone posted a recent PV on Facebook and I was stunned at how mature they are now. To me, they were all Eggs practically yesterday. (My, my, how time flies when you're having fun.) I checked on CDJapan and there's a bunch of concert DVDs from them. I've got a lot to catch up on.
 
Can anyone here recommend a good Up Up Girls concert? I'm late to the game, but I want to start with a solid one.

Friendly reminder that we're about to hit 2 years since MM's last album release (14 Shou ~The Message~) which was October 29th, 2014. While 2 years between MM albums is not unheard of in their past, the fact it seems it will go well over 2 years is very unusual. Most seem to be maybe 2 years and a month or so, but not much more.
 
Maybe they're worried about releasing an album that won't have only/mainly Tsunku songs? However 12th gen really needs some album songs... I think it might help them find their place in the group, even if only a little more.

I just think they know albums generally don't sell well for them anymore and considering next year is their 20th they might as well wait and blow the money on one that will most likely generate more sales for them.

I have a feeling that there would have been one at the end of 2015/at the beginning of this year, and Wakacchainai would have been on it. But plans were overturned.

They've had a lot of good songs since the last album. I'm certainly eager for a new one. I'm trying to avoid buying singles from now on, hoping they'll all be on the next album. I did buy a number of MM singles last year, but I'm trying to limit my purchases from now on to albums, concert DVDs and Petit Best.

I know this is pretty normal in J-pop but since I come from K-pop, doesn't it bother you guys that some albums that have maybe 12 songs, 5 o 6 or of them are past singles to fill the album? The message had only 6 new songs and half the album was 'recycled'
Any K-pop group would have 2 used singles and 10 new songs if they had the same number of tracks

The only reason that happens is because of the prominence of mini-albums, otherwise we'd be in the same boat with Kpop albums. I remember my friends being annoyed that half the tracks on this weren't new.

Well, it's not always been like that. 14shou had 6 single songs, 13CC had 4, 12 Smart had 4, Fantasy 11 had 2 (granted, it came out at a weird timing), 10MM had 3...
Blame the triple A sides, I guess.
