Current Favorite Songs
Hi all!
I've decided to create this thread again because I really like hearing about what other people are into, and it gives me ideas of new music to try <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I'll start by saying that I am loving MEG's album STEP! I especially love Heart, which is a track I first heard on DJ Kaori's J-mix. If I have time later I'll up some tracks <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... deways.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Tell us what you like listening to these days!

Re: Current Favorite Songs
Aww, I like this thread too! ^^
I'm into:
The Smiths - London : I'm gonna see Morrissey in concert in March!! Pretty much the highlight of my life. I hope he plays this!
The Smiths - Handsome Devil : When the obviously gay (or at least asexual) Morrissey has lyrics that say "Let me get my hands on your Mammary glands", you just can't go wrong with that.
THE BACK HORN - Namida ga Koboretara : I finally got a CD by them, and THIS on the CD. I put it off for so long, but now listening to it after so long I remember why all I did was play it non-stop. One of my favorites ever.
SNSD - Gee : Ummm, yeah. This seems to be taking pretty much everyone by storm. It's so catchy. ;__;
Aya Ueto - tears : I bought a couple of her singles with b-sides I was missing. This one is like an Ayu songs from back in the day. I loves it! And I can't wait for her to come back this year~ <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /heart.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />
Jaurim - Ara : This whole album is just fantastic. Jaurim = perfection.

Re: Current Favorite Songs
My favorite from all of 2008 was 半熟宣言 (Declaration of Semi-Maturity) by Rainie Yang (楊丞琳). Definitely her best album to date, in my opinion. I like it from start to finish. Also her ballads on this one are much more "catchy", whereas I usually find them boring. Lot of different sounds in the album too, like Wo De Ai Diao Dian Di and Nü Sheng Wo Zui Da, along with songs that sound like they would have fit in well with previous albums.
I am anxiously waiting for the next Kosaka Riyu album rumored to be coming out sometime in the next few months. Her last album, every struggle, was awesome and I am liking her solo stuff a lot more than group stuff recently. If the next album is as good as every struggle it will probably be all I listen to for 3 months. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':omgwtf:' />

I loveeeeeeeeeeee Rainie. I haven't listened to her new album, but I loved the first 2. She is sooo adorable. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';/' />
Btw, I decided to start listening to BeForU again since you reminded me of them. They are one of my favorites! I downloaded one of their live concerts for the heck of it and I was so surprised how good at singing they are.

I'm a huge Rainie fan. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';/' />
She has 4 albums now, so you may have missed more than one. There are: 1. Ai Mei, 2. Yu Shang Ai, 3. Ren Yi Men, and 4. Ban Shu Xuan Yan. All 4 are good but Ban Shu Xuan Yan was the first I liked all the way through, there were a lot of ballads on the first 3 and sometimes that bores me. I am very particular about my ballads (Dai Wo Zou and Zuo Bian are amazing though, and there are a few more I like too). If you haven't heard her 3rd, I thought the tracks were half AWESOME and half BLAH. But it also has my favorite song of hers, Lang Lai Le, and Ni Shi Huai Ren which is another one of my very-favorites.
I love BeForU but I prefered the NEXT lineup. My favorites all left (except Riyu). The new girls are OK but their new image is a disappointment for me, it's just such a style shift... Though the album wasn't horrible, it was still the weakest BeForU album for me anyway. Unless you count Riyu's first solo album begin, which I don't think anyone liked too much (couple good tracks, but not worth the 45 dollars I shelled out for it...). If you haven't heard her second solo ablum, every struggle, you should check it out, it was really solid (I didn't like 3D Heart but the rest was great). m.o.n.s.t.e.r., Kokoro no Ato, and Sunny The Ride were my favorites, but there was also Danzai no Hana, Hakushi, Platinum Smile...

4 albums? Crap. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' /> I love how cutesy she is. I hope she's still doing that. I never know anything because I feel there is no decent news place for Chinese music that isn't littered with retarded people. Have any recommendations? Because Jolin Tsai performed around here in November and I had no idea. I like her too. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Maybe an Ice Cream Musume board would help that. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I read a little at asianfanatics, but you have to pick and choose what you read. Like you said, littered with retards.... They have a lot of info and stuff in their Rainie thread. Also some translated lyrics, which I love since I can't understand much Chinese.
She's not as cutesy now, but a lot of her songs are still cute. Like on her 3rd album, Wan Mei Bi Liis totally cute. And you gotta see the very pink video for Ren Yi Men.
Her latest is Wo De Ai Diao Dian Di. Circusy, and completely infectious. I walk around all the time with this in my head.

Re: Current Favorite Songs
Buono! - My Love
Billy Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Billy Joel - Prelude/Angry Young Man
The Possible - Shiawase no Katachi
Holy shit, I've been loving both of these to death for like the last month.
I had been basically WAITING for Buono to release a song with an arrangement like My Love, so the song is like a dream come true to me. I can listen to it over and over all day long. I'd be happy if they did an entire album like this and I really hope they do it live at some point. I'll shite myself.
After I started listening to Joel's stuff again, its like experiencing it again for the first time. His run of music in the 70s is easily one of the best artist catalogs from that era. Going back and listening to most of his music often becomes a "I've heard this song a million times but I never knew it was him" situation. And that's a pretty awesome and striking experience when so much music you've loved all your life ends up being by the same guy. And the way that guy romanticizes New York City in his early songs is just astounding. It makes me want to hop on a plane and go there every time I hear them.

My favorite Billy Joel song is probably The Downeaster Alexa. Amazing and such a sad but true message. Also, not as overplayed as some of his other best works (here's looking at you, Piano Man. But I love you anyway.)

I've abandoned you all for the coleans. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Currently I've been at SSF obsessing about korean 9 member girl group SNSD/So Nyuh Shi Dae/Girls' Generation. Wonder Girls is also pretty nice, but not as into them as SNSD. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> Worse thing about colean fanbases is the sensitivity. It's good to be back here.

I'm obsessed with Tornado Man's music in Megaman 9. (Thunder Tornado)
I hope someone makes up Japanese lyrics for it like the famous Dr. Wily stage.
It's not quite Okkusenman, but I like it more than all of the other BGMs.
Never heard that song and tbh, that yt video has horrible quality. lol
Yeah, they had a much better quality video up before but it was taken down. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I saw that Scrubs clip when I was looking at videos for the song. He did a good job. Hehe. I remember "Poison" from when I was little. The actual video is hilariously awesome and full of everything you'd want from an early '90s video. <3

Kara - Honey Honey Hanni.. Damn that song's catchy. The girls are really cute too.
Re: Current Favorite Songs
Koda Kumi feat MEGARYU - HEAT - I ADORED this song during the Black Cherry tour, but I haven't been able to get the track until just recently. Apparently, it's REALLY old, but it sounds a lot more contemporary than her older stuff.
Also, DAYS (8-bits of tears YMCK remix), Sparkle, RULE, and Reincarnation.

Morrissey - Alsatian Cousin
Awesome opening to an album. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':kodama:' />
I'm trying to get through enough Morrissey songs to be able to sing along when I see him on the 19th. But I can't seem to get past this album. Most of the songs I like them because they're about the break up of the Smiths. And he still has his "Smiths" voice. But maybe I should force myself to listen to nothing but "Your Arsenal" and on.

Re: Current Favorite Songs
I've been woefully underexposed to new music lately. I'm very rarely even in my car, which is the only time I listen to music at all. And when I do, lately, it's always been old stuff that I'd burned onto MP3 CD's a while back. Stuff I love to sing along to, both classic and more-modern. The former from folks like The Beatles, Billy Joel, CCR, and Herman's Hermits. The latter from folks like Fastball, Matchbox Twenty, SR71, GooGoo Dolls, Reel Big Fish, etc. All of which are folks that I wish they'd include in a game like Rock Band, SingStar, Karaoke Revolution, or etc. And none of which have been, as of yet. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' /> Although I guess Harmonix is developing a Beatles game.
In terms of new music, I do keep up with Hellopro and TNX stuff whenever I go to Steve's place. We always watch all the new PV's and lives, as well as old faves. But other than that, my only recent exposure to newer music has been in a couple rare games. Like that EXILE song "Next Door" from Street Fighter, I've heard the first verse about 1000 times thanks to the main menu repeating haha. Very cool, and similar in a lot of ways to 24 Karats (which was the last song of theirs I remember). Although this one suffers, obviously, from a complete lack of Sowelu. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D/' /> Other than that, umm, I dunno. I heard every song from all three High School Musical movies, about 50 times each, thanks to both the Dance and Sing It games.
