Re: What are you playing?
Since I have far too much free time now, I'm going back and finishing up games that kind of fell by the wayside when bigger titles came out and grabbed my attention. Finally beat Dead Space and working on Tales of Vesperia now.

Me too, but I'm putting it aside for a while because I also just got Super Robot Wars K and am mid-way through Star Ocean 4.
edit: And Peggle. Peggle is awesome.

Chine Town Wars again. Give in to the Peggle!!! It's of those "I guess I'll play for 20 minutes... Oh shit! It's 3am!" games.

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... owdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sigh:' /> Holy shit, that's impressive. I would put that feat higher than completion of most Final Fantasy games, personally. I looked at my completion % after beating TWEWY and immediately dismissed any hope of having the patience to get 100%. Anyway, congrats!

Re: What are you playing?
I get what you're saying. I've been playing the hell out of Tales of Vesperia for the last two weeks trying to get as much done in a single playthrough as I can. I'm 10 hours short of the 100 hours played achievement, but since I'm only level 90 I doubt I'll be getting the level 200 achievement without starting the New Game Plus with the 10X experience option.
It's an awesome game once it gets going. Takes about 10 hours to really get into the story, but after that it's a great ride. The main character is probably the first RPG protagonist I've ever truly liked/respected/agreed with. And he has a one-eyed dog that smokes a pipe.

Just installed and tried out Prototype for half an hour.
Contrary to what I thought it would be, it was actually quite entertaining.

Bionic Commando for 360. A very exciting game. Not perfect, but extremely well-made and epic.
Also already got my pre-order of Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta! for 360 and need to finish Death Smiles. My order of Gundam: Operation Troy also got here, but I haven't played it yet.

Wait, Death Smiles is zone free?! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':eyepatch:' /> I must get it! Or do you have a Japanese 360?
I got Prototype and while the story is made of tripe and string, the gameplay is really really fun. I didn't think I'd enjoy a sandbox game that's so story-driven, cause I always hated that about the GTA titles, but man this game really gets it right, everything is super fun to do.

Nah, not zone-free, I got a Japanese 360 and have already amassed a collection of 12 games after having it for a month. There are just too many damn shmups and even more coming out like every month or two. Mushihimesama and Ketsui are supposed to be out on 360 before the summer is over <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':eyepatch:' />

Re: What are you playing?
Shi Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. Literally just started playing it, but I'm liking it. I had only heard about the game's announcement, so the tactic-style battle system surprised me. I hope it doesn't get too complicated <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I see the appeal in tactic-style games, but I don't really like micro-managing lots of units...
After about an hour or two of playing, I'm really enjoying the game. The battles are challenging, but the conditions for failure seem to be lighter (for example, it's not game over when the main character or his team dies sometimes). The many battles run smoothly and quickly. The story is generic Atlus "we don't know what's going on, we don't know what's going on, hey, did you know we don't know what's going on?" but it's a much faster pace. The usual hour and a half explaining the setting and time and location and characters is replaced with half of The World Ends With You's setting and compressed into about 10 minutes. Instead of making friends and realizing family, everyone is conveniently a trusting, deep, long-time friend right off the bat.

Re: What are you playing?
Bought Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Splinter Cell: Double Agent.
I've been playing about 15 hours into the first disc (of 3) of Star Ocean and right now I'm on the planet Raok. I find this game addiciting. At first, I didn't want to get this game because I thought there would be so much stuff from the previous games that I wouldn't get. Which is kind of silly to me because if I had played Final Fantasy X-2 before X, and I had enjoyed it, then buying this game wouldn't be such a bad idea. I was really in the mood for a good RPG game, and I'm glad I picked this up. The voice acting is little bit weak, but it's not too bad. Although, it did take me a little while to get over Lymle's voice (plus there's no way she's 15!). What I kind of like is how Welch pokes fun at Japan with her doing cosplay and pointing out that Meracle reminds her of cosplays at anime conventions.
I've only played this Splinter Cell once when I had rented it when it came out. It was really really fun, but I had never thought of buying it until I saw that it was only $13 for a used one. So I thought "why not?" Haven't played it because of Star Ocean, but I will eventually.

Anno 1404 since last week.
Best RTS I've played since World in Conflict. (though obviously totally different, since it's more of an building & planing game, than using a huge load of fast tactics)

Re: What are you playing?
My DS died! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> It has some weird zombie power problem where it turns on without me touching it, and if I try to play it's constantly resetting itself. Nintendo says it'll be $80-90 to fix it. To heck with that, I'll get a new one. Can't decide if I want to go DSi or another DS. I'll have a long time to decide though, I don't think I can afford one until October. At least I can cancel all my DS preorders and save some cash. You guys better not gush about the new Layton game too much! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I don't like console play much anymore, but Valkyria Chronicles is an awesome game. The only thing I don't like is the ranking system. To get a good rank you have to try and beat it in (usually) 1 turn and put the covering, strategy, and smart gameplay aside in favor of running into gunfire like a madman. The game is beautiful, I want more games to have this same sort of cell shaded look and the map->gameplay is awesome. Reminds me of the FMVs in FFT PSP. Aside from the very meh storyline, this game is rocking my socks.I'm alternating this game with Folklore for now. Folklore is interesting, but it's too repetitive. I hate switching from the chick to the dude and replaying the same segments over and over. The folks are a little different, but it's the same environments. *yawn*

I just got done playing VC as well, it truly does have a beautiful art style. I agree about the ranking system, and the storyline is -really- cheesy, but the gameplay is fantastic and the maps are well designed.
Anyway, I just finished Final Fantasy IV for the DS, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt similar to FFVI, and while VI is a little more polished gameplay-wise, I felt IV had better pacing, and I didn't feel overwhelmed with so many characters in the party at once. I also enjoyed the difficulty of the DS version, even some random fights seemed like boss battles. Also, good music, especially the boss battle theme.

BlazBoobyLadyBlue, which I have nooooooo idea how to play, but it's insanely pretty & I'm learning. I'm also playing this cool little $10 shooter on PSN called Heavy Weapon, where you use the analog stick to move your tank left & right, and the other one to shoot at all the planes & bombers that fly across. Extremely simple premise, but executed quite nicely & I've so far played it 3 times as much as BlazBlue since getting both on Friday.

Every day's great at your Junes. <3
So as one can surmise from looking at my avatar and signature, I'm kinda headfirst into Blazblue at the moment. Still not too great at it, but it's insanely fun.

Re: What are you playing?
Got G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for PS3. G.I. Joe was totally free thanks to the insane sale Toys R Us had last week, and it's a pretty decent mindless run around & shoot everything game. Duke's a better actor in this than Channing Tatum, too!
MvC2's pretty spiffy, especially for $15 & more especially since it's based on the Dreamcast port that I've had for nearly a decade. I do feel kinda cheap playing it though, since Supers are just a single fireball motion with 2 buttons. Charlie's flash kick super just shouldn't be THAT easy to pull.

Re: What are you playing?
oh man, my internet was out for a few days and all I did was play Fallout 3. I feel like I am so behind in getting into it, but it's seriously the most fun I have had with a game in a very long time. Really glad I started playing it.
I was hesitant because I did not like Oblivion and I felt like I should have or something, because all the other cool kids did, so I was afraid the same thing would happen with Fallout 3. But fortunately they did a lot of things much better with it than Oblivion, that I had problems with, so I'm happy!

You should get yourself some good mods for Fallout 3.
Just like Oblivion, the game is way better with all the mods (still an awesome game on it's own though !) the fans have made so far.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/ and http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/ are the sites I'd recommend for getting yourself some mods.
