Woo semi-late to the party. You're going to have to get over your disgust if you want to hang around here, because this is pretty much what happens every time there's an argument at the BBS. Sorry, but mm-bbs has a specific section dedicated to multimedia sharing. That is where requests for stuff should be made. You do have to have a certain post count to be able to access those forums, so if you just patiently bide your time and participate at the forum, you'll eventually get access to it like all the rest of us did. Then you can post a request thread and hope someone is kind enough to share files with you. Threads like this exist for discussion. Yes, some people have been great and supplied music to fuel the discussion. It's even okay to ask once if anyone would mind sharing some songs. But twice in a two day period is nagging and not going to get you anywhere. You also got greedy and requested a ton of files rather than just asking for a few songs as recommendations. People are a lot more inclined to share when your request isn't over the top.

That was interesting, but the sock puppet theatre is now closed. Before more people waste honest effort on trying to talk to it (sorry, TnB <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />).

You could've at least picked a better name than "Kawaii Queen"
And I actually do have quite a bit of Moritaka Chisato stuff. Shame.

I'm not going to spend an hour zipping and uploading stuff for some random newbie who signed up just to beg for files and then created a sockpuppet to argue with herself. >:[

I was just kidding. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' /> I actually have nothing of hers besides a random Christmas song, so if there were a few songs you thought were just awesome and you wanted to upload that'd be cool <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Also now that I've skimmed through the rest of this thread that I never paid attention to before I have concluded that there is not nearly enough Go Hiromi in it.

Re: 1980s Japanese idols
Either Akimoto changed his name, someone screwed up on Wiki or there are two Akimoto's that jus so happened to create giant mega groups that became super popular.
I looked up #16 Mamiko Takai of Oyanko Club and discovered she married, Atsushi Akimoto.
But the guy who produces AKB48 is Yasushi Akimoto.
You figure it all out! :'D
Oh and Anzen Chitai is pure orgasmic love! I could listen to them for hours. I don't normally like male Japanese singers but I do love them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I could do without the freaky late 80s early 90s clothes though, so I picture them with something much more suitable on.

Of these three options? I'd say someone editing a wiki incorrectly is the best choice. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dancey.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' />

Re: 1980s Japanese idols
hey everyone!
I'm a huge fan of 60s-90s J-music, so I thought I'd give you some names & stuff ^^ I'm sorry to say, I don't know much about new jpop >< I actually first learned about the oldies from this thread, but I got really into it, took 3 yrs of Nihongo, and have come fully prepared to give some more idols/groups/bands/songs
first, try Carmen Maki:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bceYoqwWCuU
she was a ballade singer in the 60s, and became a heavy metal singer in the 70s for some reason ><
this is Honda Minako, a very popular idol/rocker in the 80s, who became a sort of classical singer in the 90s. She died of leukimia >< RIP Minako-san!
in the song, she is covering Roppongi Shinjuu by Ann Lewis:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCxzAawQrdY
here, she sings an orignal song, Yuuwaku:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdZR8b_65JY
This is Wakabayashi Kana:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9yLnmQuvBk...feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cul-mq8KoEM...feature=related
she was never famous and only recorded one album >< she has a very sweet voice, tho ^^
these are the legendary backup singers from the 80s, Eve (Leona, Clara, Lilika). They did backup for Nakamori Akina, Anri, Nakayama Miho, Kawaii Naoko, Koizumi Kyoko, etc.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgV2BDgmDgs...feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBN6DmaIIv4...feature=related
my favorite is the one in the middle, Clara-san ^^
here they do a cover of Billy Joel's song "Uptown Girl"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buH_GyvM9A8...feature=related
here, Clara leads with a song called Just You:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPTLJDkeX4U...feature=related
very pretty ^ <> ^
this is a duet from the late 70s of a similar genre, Tinna:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lYFgDmdLCo...feature=related
this song has cheesy words, but it's fun ^^ they are really Japanese, but their English is incredible! I don't know why there are images of cars, tho * *
this is another b-grade idol, like Wakabayashi-san, her name is Fuji Ichiko:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfUz1NUHdhI
this is Tamura Eriko, a famous actress, who started out as an idol and pinup girl for some reason >< the did an anime like Creamy Mami for her, Idol Densetsu Eriko
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN0uAJxQygE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51xXl8w02Ro
this is Oginome Yoko, who made boy's style very popular. She sang lots of dance songs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQNLtlQ_VZ4...feature=related
This is Amazons, a group of three young women who sang funk, and Latin-style pop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNbbvkWNU2k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bncPGvyXe5U...feature=related
this is Spinning Dee Dee, a group that i wish i knew more about. They only released one single:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP9PVO2048s
this is babe, which was a duet in direct competition with Wink:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-Jr9-_ox1M...feature=related
this is Dee Dee, possibly another incarnation of Spinning Dee Dee:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYcmTa9DLkc...feature=related
this is a duet called Pink Jaguar:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ophnht5lr9o
this is Kawakami Yukie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQYjtKBWwBA
you probably know Asaka Yui, but here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtCkFy3KUbA...feature=related
this is Show-ya, a mid 80s girl band:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_BBzUCVHSg

you probably also know Kawai Naoko:

APEOT, ow. My attention span.
I'll read through it all later though. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Has anyone heard of a group called Princess Princess? I'm super into them right now. I think I have like four albums by them? But the sad thing is my favourite is their last .D; I also have an album by a group called RIBBON, but I haven't listened too much to it.

Re: 1980s Japanese idols
APEOT OVERLOAD!!!!!!!
Anyway, I only like a few songs from Princess Princess. M and Diamond are my top favorite, but I'm biased I haven't heard everything by them. So I might like more. Any recommendations?
I gotta say, right now I'm into Okada Yukiko and Minako Honda... both of who are dead... >_> Total coincidence though, seriously.
Fun fact about Minako though, Akimoto of Onyanko and AKB48 fame did some of her songs which is probably why she was so awesome. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
A few Okada songs that I particularly like. ;D
Kuchibiru Network
Love Fair
Little Princess
A few Minako songs that I like! ;O
M'
The Cross - Ai no Juujika-
1986 no Marylin
And I'm going to show my inner Moonie here, but I downloaded a Best of album by Aya Sugimoto just for kicks and it wasn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be. xD
She was late 80's early 90s
Boys From 1988(Which is a Cover of this song*) *Be careful cause her nipples are about to pop out everytime she moves. D:
Usagi from 1990
B&S from 1990

I've only heard of Diamond. High-King covered it last year!
Em-El: I think APEOT means he/she got into the oldies for <2 years, and had an extra year? Or is my math failing me?
I'm more of a 60s/70s idol fan myself. So can I suggest Sakurada Junko?

Maybe, APEOT studied Japanese for 3 years and stumbled upon this thread by accident, got REALLY into it and made that post?

Re: 1980s Japanese idols
actually, I didn't completely explain, sorry!
I technically studied for two years, but I did 3 years of work. I have been listening to this music for a long time now, but I'm not sure how long >< haha! This thread got me especially into it, tho, thank you!
yes, Princess Princess is very good ^^ I especially love their song "Seven Years After"
also, Honda Minako and Okada Yukiko are great! I love "Love Fair" and "first Date" by Yukko the most, and I love "Yuuwaku" and "Satsui no vancance" by Minako the most. Has anyone seen Minako's cover of Roppongi Shinjuu? It's a great song by Ann Lewis! ^^
I u like girl bands from that period like Princess x2, try Pink Sapphire, Show-Ya, the Go-Bangs, Rebecca, Nakamura Ayumi, Sheena and the Pokkets, Gwinko, and Watanabe Misato ^^
also, if you like 60s and 70s, my favorite songs right now are:
-Ai San San by Misora Hibari
-Ame no Bojo by Yashiro Aki
-Kyoto Bojo by Nagisa Yuuko
hope you like this, too!
oh! and there's a band from the 60s w/ a girl front called Yuya Uchida and The Flowers
sorry for the amount of info! take your time!

Re: 1980s Japanese idols
I just listened to a best of album from Koizumi Kyoko, the only song I knew on the album was Nantettatte Idol and only because H!P performed it on Music Fair a few years ago. But most of the other songs were pretty good to.
Surprising fact about Minako I found out. She did one of the endings to Magic Knight Rayearth, Lullaby ~ Yasashiku Dakasete. I didn't put two and two together until I had put some of my Rayearth music on my iTunes and noticed that one of the songs was in my Minako pile. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nosebleed:' /> Here's a live version because it shows her singing abilities better, especially when she goes into opera mode. She was probably one of the best idol/singers ever.
