I won Flight Simulator X + a Thrustmaster Flight Stick more than half a year ago and I never tried it out.

But now I finally did ! It took forever to install this 16GB monster and the first loading took about 2 minutes...

The game itself is interesting, I've never been into flying simulations, but this is actually pretty nice. Hopefully they also have some military jets and helicopters in it, I want to shoot buildings and the nature !

now that sounds fun... But flight sims and fun? That don't go together... does it?

I'm playing Edgeworth still, but I've also just started Infinite Space (also on DS). Mindfuck of a game, in many ways. The story is absolutely enormous, and if constantly feels like you're being overwhelmed, like you ended up in a math class one year ahead of the level you're at, desperately trying to cling onto info you understand in order to proceed. Incredible range of customizations and tweaks you can perform, and once the gameplay gets going it's really involved. Fun stuff.

It's almost like a Japanese interpretation of Mass Effect.

I kinda want to play Resonance of Fate. Tri-Ace is pretty cool, and the combat system looks incredibly complex and involved, so right up my alley!

Playing Dragon Age: Awakenings, but I'm highly pissed off that nothing from the previous DLC carried over. My character was a murder machine with awesome space swords, and I have to start the game with a friggin' crossbow?

But then it made up for it by the return of Oghren, the most awesomely sleazy supporting character of all time, and the addition of Ser Pounce-uh-lot.

Catching up on some older games, because the Bombcast kids are insidious & their discussions usually make me want to at least try the games they're talking about.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - Having a lot of fun with this game, but most of that relies on the grappling from perch to perch aspect. If you couldn't do that (and then tie up thugs & cut the line with a batarang throw,) it'd be a kinda average beat 'em up with really cool graphics. It's a good game so far, but definitely over-hyped.

Assassin's Creed II - Got this today on sale for $30 & so far it LOOKS fantastic. I seem to be doing a lot of errands for my family, so I'm wondering how this differs from real life & why I paid good money for it, but things are starting to look more interesting now that dad's been arrested. Uh, in the game. My actual dad just spends most of his time watching basketball & trying not to wet himself. He's more successful in one of those endeavors than the other.

Resistance 2 - I'd been meaning to try this since I saw an early E3 trailer featuring your character running up the arm of this giant monster & shooting him in the face, but somehow just never got around to getting the game. And now that I see action figures for it, WELL NOW I HAVE TO PLAY IT DAMMIT. I'm not a big fan of FPS games, but I do like to give the genre a try now & then. I'm really only at the beginning of this (destroyed the 1st big robot thing & now I'm in a flooded headquarters or something) so I can only say it's pretty intuitive to control & it's... a FPS game with nice graphics. I dunno. THE THREAD ASKED WTF I WAS PLAYING, ALRIGHT? These games are pretty much all the same to me, though I do want to try the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare games just to see all the ridiculously over-the-top storyline angles I keep hearing about.

....aaaaaaaaaaaand thanks to Gamestop's kooky sale, the Game Of The Year Edition of CoD4 was $20 brand new. With the PS1 copy of Megaman 8 I'm expecting in the mail, I'll soon be back to juggling 5 games at once like a champ!

Haven't posted lately in this thread.

Beat AAI A little while ago, a solid entry in the AA series. Thumbs up to the story and the actual cases, thumbs down to the somewhat easy gameplay. Thumbs up to new, interesting characters, thumbs down to a subpar soundtrack (in comparison to the rest of the series).

Working on hard mode in Uncharted 2 and on Chapter 12 in FF13.

Couple friends got Perfect Dark on XBLA, and I gotta say, playing system link Perfect Dark with no frame rate drop is was one of my top video game wishes of all time (right up there with a Pokemon MMORPG) so I was having all kinds of fun.

Finally got a chance to play Shattered Horizons, an online FPS set in a 0-gravity space environment. The gameplay is so interesting, but I've got two major issues with the game:

1) the maps are too big. I have to keep track of people in every which direction while trying to circumnavigate a shitton of meteors with an interesting, but, I suppose, optimized control setup for handling the lack of gravity. In fact, this whole issue would be a, say, non-issue if,

2) there are nine other players online at any one time. And half of them are pretentious fags. Seriously, seeing "goodday useless teammates" every five minutes wouldn't be off putting if this doucher wasn't on the one server with people on it. This isn't to imply there are no servers -- no-no, there are over 40 servers.

It's a shame, this could truly fill in the void that Tribes left when it went offli--OH WAITAMINUTE. YEP, YOU ARE INFERRING CORRECT. TRIBES 2, A "DEAD" GAME, HAS MORE PLAYERS THAN SHATTERED HORIZONS.

For its credit, Shattered Horizons is very nice to look at and, frankly, easy to play. You pick a company and then get ta fightin'! Not only that, but enemies you spot are noted very clearly on the HUD (along with floating corpses) and each team literally glows yellow or blue (which isn't always helpful when they aren't close to land). Ther isn't a health bar (not that I noticed), but your ammo is noted right on your gun. Secondary weapons like EMPs (which screw up your suit leaving you motionless) and dust clouds (really nice looking and effective) also turn things around.

For the games looks, it is necessary to have a DirectX10-compatible graphics card and OS (Vista or 7 or XP if you wanna go rogue).

Still, the game is damn-pretty and dead-simple, but until the single-digit number of users lose their Bieber-levels of douchebaggery, it may not be worth it. It's just hard to get good in a game where you really don't get a choice of where to play.

(disclosure: I'm playing at 1-2aEST, but that's still daytime in other parts of the country and world!)

I'm playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (I do agree this title is overly long) for the first time. It's an action-rpg that came out in 2004 and many consider it to be a spiritual successor to Deus Ex. It has a very different setting obviously, modern day vampire-infested Los Angeles, but it does have a very similar vibe. It's dreary and morbid.

There are often several ways to complete a mission, but the level design is sometimes a bit too restrictive for my taste.

Also, huge amount of big tits of nearly naked women.

Too bad there still are some weird bugs in this game, despite the 50th fan patch released. I even died once just while walking around ducking. =/

Due to Giant Bomb's second foray into their Endurance Run series, I picked up Deadly Premonition. It's the game version of a so-bad-it's-good B-movie, plus it was only 20 bucks and seems to be easy achievement points.

Also picked up the Ultimate Genesis Collection. Phantasy Star 1-4, a bunch of Sonic games, Streets of Rage 1-3, Golden Axe 1-3, Ecco 1-2, and 30 or so other titles? Yes please.

SO unrelated, but I loved their P4 run! I'm not a big fan of having two runs going at the same time, but Jeff and Vinny are together, so yay!

Deadly Premonition is so unintentionally funny. The shadows sound so apathetic when they yell. "nooooo."

Since apparently Final Fight Double Impact's not available on PSN until next week, I got Megaman 10. It's cool that Protoman's available from the start instead of being DLC like he was in MM9, but the only way your game counts towards ranking is by using Megaman on Normal difficulty. Still, it's fun using the charge shot & slide again.

NOW... Capcom needs to make the next game in the series either a 16 or 32-bit version. Megaman 8 was fantastic on PSone & Saturn.

Konami should make a new 2D Contra for the PC with modding capabilities, that'd be my most anticipated 2D game anyone could probably make.

They did Contra 4 a couple years back, but I think it was for handhelds & mobile. They ARE remaking Rush'N Attack though, which people are ignorantly calling a Shadow Complex ripoff.

With great PSP comes great game-sponsibilities. I'm rotating between about 6 games right now, but these ones I've gotten a good feel for:

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee - This is another example of a great franchise staying consistent and I love the game for it, but I've got a few bones to pick. In challenge, you only start by playing on one course and if you're really a diehard, you'll probably want to finish ALL of that first plateau, but I've played through that same course about a dozen times. Only until you get to the second tier do you go to the second course. Also, the course count is down from the PS2 versions, but go figure. I'd highly recommend for golf game fans (especially of the previous titles). I need to get sick of this before I take a whack at Open Tee 2...

Pangya: Legend of the Korea and also Not-Golf Totally - What I love about Hot Shots (both Golf and Tennis) is that the game is user-friendly, control-intuitive, aimed at hardcore fans, and all-the-while maintaining outstanding physics (give or take a handful of trick shots). Pangya: An Adventure of Swinging Holy Instruments and Totally Not Golf Related DEFINITELY is probably none of these things. The controls are daftly simplified while not having a more advanced scheme. The golf greens represent slopes by dots on squares (dot in one corner leans that way for that square). Also, Pangya: Gotta Catch The Pangya Pangya Topanga Pangya has a story somewhere. Someone wrote a story for a golf PANGYA AND NOT GOLF game. Here's the story. You 'on't know shit about SHIT about Pangya which you play on Korea a distant planet. You're from America dirty Japan Earth and even your character realizes how similar Pangya is to a game they play on Earth called goulgh. The physics feel clunky and completely faked. The graphics, despite being sold as colorful and beautiful and GLORIOUS KOREA sparkle-shine, the textures are rather muddied on so-so models. The shot gauge offers no sort of terrain sloping. In place of getting "perfect impacts" or perfect timing shots, you get PANGYA. Since the shot gauge moves terribly slow, you get PANGYA all the time. PANGYA. Also, there are no points. What are powindz? You accrue Pang. Strangely, you get no Pang for a PANGYA. Despite being called something else, Pangya is so close to golf in any other golfing game that the only redeeming quality about this game is that Pangya is a terribly fun word to say. PASS.

Lumines: Shake yo body, shake yo body, shake yo body down to the ground! Shake yo body, shake yo body, shake yo body down to the ground! Shake yo body, shake yo body, shake yo body down to the ground! Shake yo body, shake yo body, shake yo body down to the ground! SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. SHININ. Doots-i-tats-i-doots-i-tats-i-doots-i-tats-i-doots-i-tats-i. SUCH LOVE SHINICHI OSAWA I WILL BIRTH YOUR BABIES EVERYDAY UNTIL I DIE BECAUSE YOU ARE IMMORTAL SIR.

Can't posssibly be worse than that upcoming KOF movie.

I just got this game an hour ago & I'm totally loving the audio/visual options. I haven't seen one so far, but I'd love to have the option to make it blurry & have a horizontal line continuously scrolling across. If there was an option to have the title logo burned into the screen, it'd be a PERFECT reproduction of the machines I played on.

I also completely forgot what Magic Sword was, and while it's as fun as I remember it, the art style totally makes me think of Forgotten Worlds & how much more awesome THAT game would've been as the backup.

Yeah I've seen that too, good stuff. Reminds me of the Ash is in a coma theory, which is also eerily interesting.

I beat FFXIII awhile ago, I'm still trying to complete the missions. Got three left.

And on the topic of Final Fantasy, XIV's Alpha has begun, and after two sessions has been postponed due to server issues.

Is anybody else looking to play FFXIV? I used to play XI waaaay back in the day but got tired of LFG all the time and travel time being way too long overall. From interviews, XIV is supposed to be significantly more solo-friendly and everybody has access to teleports/warp and teleport crystals are pretty abundant, so both these issues should hopefully be solved. Also, there is apparently going to be an open beta before launch. I will probably try it out then and decide if it's good enough to get into.

I'm on a "pile" list so I have to finish Twilight Princess...........or my husband will beat me.......then after that I have to hurry and beat Super Mario Galaxy so that I'll be ready to play SMG2 when we get it. I have a really bad habit of starting games and not finishing them. I used to not be that way. I wonder what happened.......oh, yeah, I graduated from college and got a job

I told my husband I want my own steam account so that I can play Plants vs. Zombies under my own name (I've been using his account to play games)..........but really, I'm going to surprise him by playing Left 4 Dead. I'm not a PC gamer. I like my consoles; but, I'm not going to let him have all the fun shooting zombies!!

Anybody here played the GTA IV DLCs/Add-on/Episodes from Liberty City ?

I just got it in the mail today (only 15GBP from amazon.co.uk, that's less than what one episode costs on GfWL) and have played about an hour with Gay Tony.

I absolutely love the intro, it so reminiscent of Vice City, my favourite GTA.

They even made an 80s music station called Vice City FM.

EDIT

OMG Capcom seems to still make good games (besides the Resident Evil main-series), they just announced BCR2 !

I have, several years past it's relevance, successfully completed the campaign mode in Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. And, as someone who's really no fan of the FPS genre, I must say it was a helluva lot more interesting & well-executed than any other FPS I've played, the number of which can be counted on one hand with probably a couple fingers missing.

It's also the 1st FPS I've completed, which probably says something about how easy it is. Sure, I died tens of dozens of times, but I also forgot about the makeshift lock-on system the game has, so I probably would do better on another playthrough. But yeah, if -I- could complete it, I think pretty much anyone with at least one hand can. Still, it's got a fairly plausible storyline going through it & it's not bogged down with all sorts of needless weapons configurations, customizations, etc. I'm kind of an OG gamer in that I mostly see anything that needs more than 4 buttons as being overkill, so the MW system was much appreciated.

So now I can look forward to playing Modern Warfare 2 in a couple years after I finish the other games I bought this year. But I'm still not going online with it, you motherfuckers out there are a bunch of dicks!

You better don't play MW2 then.

I can recommend you HL2 and the Stalker games though. Far Cry 1 is also a very good shooter, though outdated in some areas today.
