I was actually quite surprised to learn that BoA hadn't released an album in Korea for over 5 years.
Her 6th Korean Album, Hurricane Venus was released on the 5th. (Get it five years, released on a 5th? Ha! Oh the Irony!)
Tracklist is as follows.
1. GAME
2. Hurricane Venus
3. DANGEROUS
4. Yeop Saram (옆사람; Stand By)
5. M.E.P (My Electronic Piano)
6. LET ME
7. Hanbyeol (한별; Implode)
8. ADRENALINE
9. Haru Haru (하루하루; Ordinary Day)
10. Don't Know What To Say
11. Romance (로망스)
So far there are two MVs for it, Game and the title track Hurricane Venus. She's also promoting Dangerous, but has no MV for it yet.
Live Performances of Dangerous and Hurricane Venus.
This is BoA's 10th anniversary so I can see why she finally decided to come back to Korea. It would have been a pretty big Bite me if she didn't. Vocally I can tell she's fallen into the k-pop trap of vocal tuning compared to the stuff she just recently released in Japan earlier this year. Dance wise she's still got it. Physically.... why the hell did she dye her hair blond? She looks sickly, or it might just be the makeup and the fact she looks like she should gain a few pounds.
Anyone else still care about BoA?

Re: BoA storms into Korea with Hurricane Venus
10 years?! Jesus. The other day I was cleaning out my HD and found all these old crappy-quality BoA music videos. I used to save them...cause this was all before youtube kiddos. Can you remember life before youtube?
I love Hurricane Venus! It isn't the kind of song I'd normally listen to (autotune??), but it is so fun and catchy. The PV is great though: So fancy! Budget! Sets! Camera angles! Too bad her perf. of Hurricane Venus is so controlled -- it reminds me of how Namie Amuro "dances" live now like she can't be really bothered to try in those uncomfortable outfits.
Her live performance of Dangerous is AMAZING. I LOOOVVEE the way she dances.
Game is...interesting. I can't tell if I like it...which usually means I don't.

Re: BoA storms into Korea with Hurricane Venus
I heard through allkpop that there will be a 3D version of Hurricane Venus released in the future. Not sure how they will release it, but it should be interesting. If movies can be 3D, why not music videos? I can see it starting a whole new trend, one I'm frankly not going to like since I'm not a big fan of 3D anything. There's just something about wearing glasses over your glasses that just sorta takes away from the whole thing.
Anyway, her 10th Anniversary is August 25th <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> That's when I.D Peace B was released anyway.
And I remember a time before YouTube! One of my first PV's was a BoA song, I.D Peace B. It's been a very long while hasn't it? This all just makes me feel old. T_T I can believe I'll have been out of high school for 10 years next year. D:

Re: BoA storms into Korea with Hurricane Venus
I really dig Hurricane Venus (the song) so far, but I haven't ventured through the rest of the CD yet simply because I don't care yet.
Dangerous's energy is more what I'm looking for in a comeback, so hopefully she keeps that energy going for whatever song she decides to promote next. Hurricane Venus has the catchy goodness needed, Dangerous has the diva attitude, so hopefully the next one will have her staying power to keep her relevant beyond this CD.

BoA! I didn't know she would go back to Korea, but I'm happy she did. Now I'm sad, no song by KangTa in this album...
Re: BoA storms into Korea with Hurricane Venus
You know you haven't been to Korea in awhile when someone has NO clue who you are and tries to scout you. ;D

Re: BoA storms into Korea with Hurricane Venus
Well, she is quite different from even a year ago... But that is a very funny story! And wow, BoA has been dressing so well lately, I still have the image in my mind from when she did the video for Valenti.
