Dream Morning Musume's First Single "Shining Butterfly"

A PV preview for DMM's new single was recently featured on the morning news. You can watch it here on Youtube. A recent MM graduate also appears in the PV which makes me a bit excited. This PV is better than current H!P PVs in a sense that there is an actual story line and I like the costumes somewhat.



But, I wonder why is the man cheating on Rika with Koharu? I disapprove (while I approve of him cheating with Kei).

This IS the first single. It's not out yet though.



I'm with Al - as long as Takahashi doesn't actually join I'm fine with her being in the PV. It looks like an interesting PV at least. I can't tell what I think of the song, too much talking over it.



It's weird that they kept Miki around for this single...I'm sure she'll be long gone on maternity leave by the time it comes out.

Costumes are fugly, so I guess you could say they stem from Classic Musume. They kinda reminded me of the outfits they wore at Kei's graduation concert. With the white and blocks of color.



I thought Miki was Tsuji for a minute.Considering Takahashi's part of M-Line, it's only a matter of time before she falls into the Dream pit.



Oh and I guess this will be Dream Musume's First and only single. So no more after this? Or maybe they'll drop the name and think of something better.

There was an album, if you missed that. It had two new songs on it, the Afternoon Musume commercial song, and Dream Morning Musume covering a bunch of random Morning Musume songs. Disc 2 was a lame Morning Musume best of (original recordings).



Re: Takahashi. I don't want her in Dream Morning Musume because she deserves better. All of these girls deserve better, even Koharu. So far Dream Morning Musume has largely been a vehicle for more tired overdone Love Machine performances. It's an insult to the talent of most of these girls, and to the careers some of them built after Morning Musume. The whole point of graduating Morning Musume is to go out on your own, do something new. Now they've all been thrown back together to do self-covers of the career they were supposed to be beyond. It would really be bad if girls started joining DMM just after graduating MM.



If they got new awesome material regularly and called themselves something else, maybe added in a few non-former Musumes, I might be all about Ai joining xD This single at least brings some hope of a better direction for them.

Koharu's at least got Oha-Star and her newly forming modeling career, and Mari and Miki keep busy with variety. I feel even worse for the girls who are only doing DMM and absolutely nothing else.

Yep, from like... 2006? XD LOVE jam on JPM and I used to run that. I'm less crazy now (heck she even began to win me over right before graduation) but I am just so tired of the overexposure. :D
